I know it's really early for this, but I thought it might be fun to go ahead and start discussing how the league will look next year.Atlantic:1. FSU2. CU3. BC4. NCSU (this is wishful thinking I know, but hey it could happen. we won't have much in terms of expectations, so it might take some pressure off.)5. UMD6. WFUCoastal:1. UM2. GT3. VT (i know i'm gonna get some flack for putting them here, but i have a gut feeling about this one)4. UNC5. UVA6. DukeACC Champion: FSUMost Intimidating Place to Play: ClemsonBowl Predictions:Orange - FSUGator - UMPeach - CUChamps Sports - VTMeineke Car Care - GTEmerald - BC (they seem to get screwed in bowl selection sometimes)MPC Computers - UNCGaylord Hotels Music City - NCSU (hopefully we can make a bowl)Coach of the Year - Tommy BowdenI don't feel like predicting Offensive and Defensive players of the year right now.I will predict that the old record for the decibel level for C-F will finally be broken this year, but the people that produce the player introductions video will regress, if that's even possible.
1/22/2006 10:17:07 PM
We got lucky to get the Emerald and Music City bowls this year for ACC teams. Wont happen again probably.
1/22/2006 10:18:56 PM
I DON'T THINK YOU REALIZE EXACTLY HOW BAD WE ARE GOING TO BE NEXT FOOTBALL SEASON.
1/22/2006 10:19:50 PM
what are the bowls that the ACC will be affiliated next year? i'll update my predictions. didn't the liberty bowl or some other bowl make a deal with the ACC for the upcoming years.^ hence the
1/22/2006 10:21:12 PM
by August it will be:YOU DONT REALIZE HOW GOOD WE WILL BE THIS YEAR! WE HAVE SUCH A GOOD ______it happens every year.
1/22/2006 10:21:18 PM
YOU DONT REALIZE HOW GOOD WE WILL BE THIS YEAR! WE HAVE SUCH A GOOD NEW CONCOURSE IN THE NEZ. MAN IT'S GOING TO GIVE US A REAL ADVANTAGE THIS YEAR.
1/22/2006 10:24:30 PM
bttt
1/22/2006 11:07:15 PM
this will be our worst year ever
1/22/2006 11:12:07 PM
we'll be ok, less people with a "me" attitude and hopefully more people with a team attitude. qb who is 5-1 or 6-1 as a starter with some experience plus a good backfield. don't expect too much though
1/22/2006 11:14:00 PM
we play duke dont we? that will be a tough game
1/22/2006 11:22:15 PM
Even during the Rivers era, Duke did play us tough....about time for them to beat us...this year should be there best shot...Wonder if our OL will beat the alltime record for giving up the most sacks in a season? Stone probably will not make it through the season.[Edited on January 22, 2006 at 11:27 PM. Reason : w]
1/22/2006 11:25:46 PM
my guess is the only shining star of next season is the O-Line actually.
1/22/2006 11:31:35 PM
i dont want to see names on those jerseys
1/22/2006 11:32:44 PM
what are you guys picks for the ACC?
1/22/2006 11:47:30 PM
if the o-line plays the offense will be the shit
1/22/2006 11:49:16 PM
Our schedule is ridiculously easy next year. Moreso than this year.Heh
1/22/2006 11:50:24 PM
we are a lock for last in our division.
1/22/2006 11:50:45 PM
1/22/2006 11:52:06 PM
i think FSU wil be sick as fuck this coming season
1/22/2006 11:54:52 PM
We will win two games max
1/23/2006 12:19:26 AM
Have you seen our schedule, or are you trying to be overly Chicken Little pessimistic here?
1/23/2006 12:21:16 AM
WATCH THE FUCK OUT FOR AKRON
1/23/2006 12:25:34 AM
If we lose to App, I will be SERIOUSLY pissed.
1/23/2006 12:26:31 AM
I actually think Tommy Bowden puts it together next year and they have a big year. Davis was great at RB as a freshman and Proctor is suppossed to be a good QB. They were young this year and played well.
1/23/2006 12:26:42 AM
They're gonna need a QB
1/23/2006 12:28:40 AM
the new QB is the only reason why i would not put them in first in the Atlantic. plus the fact that FSU played incredibly well (kicking aside) in the ACCCG and the Orange Bowl. i believe that will give them a lot of momentum coming into the season. the only real problem i see is the possible QB controversy. Wyatt Sexton will return, but Drew Weatherford played outstanding for a freshman.
1/23/2006 12:42:50 AM
Is Sexton coming back? I thought I read that he was done at FSU.I think Weatherford will only get better, though. And yep, Wyatt's gone: http://floridastate.scout.com/2/488950.html[Edited on January 23, 2006 at 12:55 AM. Reason : ]
1/23/2006 12:53:59 AM
hes not coming back. lyme disease is a hell of a drug
1/23/2006 12:56:00 AM
I didnt think we played duke...dont we get Virginia, GT, and UNC from the other division?
1/23/2006 12:07:07 PM
We'll prolly make a bowl while winning 3 acc games.
1/23/2006 12:10:13 PM
yeah we play Virginia and GThttp://theacc.collegesports.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/111804aak.html
1/23/2006 12:11:59 PM
stone isnt that bad. he just cant do anything with pressure. any qb can look good with a good oline and good running backs
1/23/2006 1:00:33 PM
1/23/2006 1:41:23 PM
oh wow i didn't hear about Sexton not coming back. he still could have probably came in and got the starting job though.
1/23/2006 8:37:20 PM
I hate how all these people tell me "oh its going to be rough, but we have a great group of receivers coming back." WTF we do not! AS IF!
1/23/2006 10:25:41 PM
1/24/2006 4:32:57 PM
if we win 1 game next year it'll be more than i expected
1/24/2006 5:03:46 PM
I feel bad for our running backs. Such a good group of players, who won't be able to accomplish much because we don't exactly have an air attack. Plus, with all we're losing on defense, they'll probably be playing from behind quite often.
1/24/2006 5:50:13 PM
prediction?....PAIN!
1/26/2006 11:39:08 AM
Sept. 2 Appalachian State WINSept. 9 Akron WINSept. 16 @ Southern Miss WIN Sept. 23 Boston College LOSSSept. 30 OPEN Oct. 5 (Thurs) Florida State LOSS Oct. 14 Wake Forest WIN Oct. 21 @ Maryland LOSSOct. 28 @ Virginia LOSS Nov. 4 Georgia Tech LOSSNov. 11 @ Clemson LOSS Nov. 18 @ North Carolina WINNov. 25 East Carolina WINI'm calling 6-6 and if that gets us into a bowl game then that is great for what could be expected next yearAs for the rest of the ACC, VT will struggle a little bit more than it has the past couple of years, FSU will be the best team in the league by a good margin and in the end a top 3 or 4 team in the country i believe, and Duke will win more games than people expect (their recruiting has been loads better the past couple of years and that will start to show on the field a little bit). Everyone else will probably be about the same as they are every year in the 6-6, 7-5, 8-4, 9-3 range
1/26/2006 11:45:44 AM
I hope to god we are better than 6-6 next year, that is a fairly easy schedule, No VT, No Miami, and a soft home schedule to start
1/26/2006 11:46:49 AM
which one of the games that I predicted us to lose do you think we could win? I hope we are a lot better than 6-6 next year too but I tried to pick them w/o bias. Maybe we can win one of BC and GT at home and maybe win one of those games on the road that I picked us to lose (b/c at least last year we were better on the road anyway) and that would put us at 8-4 but we could just as easily lose to UNC at their place and to Southern Miss on the road so...
1/26/2006 11:52:43 AM
teams with 6 losses should not go to bowl games
1/26/2006 11:54:59 AM
six wins does still get you in to a bowl game though....will we be able to count our win over APP (assuming that does happen)? i know there is some rule about being able to count so many over a certain time period and I don't know our status on how many we have used recently
1/26/2006 11:56:21 AM
we'll lose to southern miss and beat florida state
1/26/2006 12:38:58 PM
I'm sure we'll lose to UNC also, not because they will be superior. We will just find a good way to fuck it up like always.
1/26/2006 12:41:45 PM
1/26/2006 12:46:13 PM
On your list I think we will win one of the three games between UVA, Maryland, and GT
1/26/2006 12:51:26 PM
you have to have a winning record to go to a bowl so we have to finish 7-5
1/26/2006 12:53:15 PM
^ Wrong in 2002 or 2003 when most teams played a 12 game schedule, 6-6 was good enough for a bowl bid. Albeit a shitty bowl.On a side note:I predict that this ass clown will complain about Chuck at some point next season:
