So, who else thinks the new "official" ncsu ring is ugly as sin and wont be ordering one since we dont get crap for choices for an overpriced who the hell cares ring anyways?*raises hand*
1/14/2006 12:12:28 AM
i wouldn't wear a ring unless i was married
1/14/2006 12:41:48 AM
I'm graduating in May, but I bought mine as soon as I was eligible (I wasn't dead-set on a class ring, but my dad was - he didn't go to college and always saw it as something important) several years ago. If I hadn't, I wouldn't have gotten one of these new ones...I think the new designs should have supplemented, not replaced, the past ones.

im getting a ring from my grad school instead i decided, that degree will be a better reward

im not big on rings period, even if married. im not a douche and i dont need to advertise one way or the other.
1/14/2006 9:26:56 AM
its not about advertising, its about pride
1/14/2006 10:15:26 AM
I remember buying a high school ring and wish I hadn't. Skipped the NCSU rings due to pricing ... I got custom license plates with NC State on them instead.
1/14/2006 10:44:09 AM
i haven't seen the new rings?i have been considering a class ring... where can i look at themand are they really ugly? :/

you can be proud without advertising it.[Edited on January 14, 2006 at 11:31 AM. Reason : they dont look so bad to me]

imo, most school's class rings look worse than our new official one, and NCSU was spoiled for many years even getting a choice (and the one choice that is available now). i know many schools who have a ring that you can get, and thats to make it a lot easier for alumni to spot each other in a crowd[Edited on January 14, 2006 at 1:27 PM. Reason : doh]

my mom got me oneshe came to state and dropped out after like 3 years, so she was soooo excited aout geting me onei thought it was cute
1/14/2006 3:24:47 PM
I bought one, and i wear it often. Also, if in a fight, i can put a block S on someone's forehead. Maybe it looks ugly as sin for the ladies, though...i don't ever see any girls wearing them.

I don't need an overpriced ring to know where I went to college. It's on the diploma, bitch.
1/14/2006 4:26:55 PM
class rings look mah i went to school for jewelry the only thing I'll ever wear in my entire life is a wedding ring but maybe thats just cause i don't like to be a showoff.

1/14/2006 4:44:07 PM
i got one of the rings, i like itpaid $texas for it though, but it looks like i won a championship or somethin
1/14/2006 4:58:21 PM
I think the new rings for ladies are ugly - and agree that they should have supplemented, not replaced, the old rings. I would have more than happily ordered one of the old ones, but since they're not available - i'm just not getting a ring.
1/14/2006 5:17:56 PM
rings are cute, but i never wear rings so they are a bit retarded for me.
1/14/2006 5:47:03 PM
rings are bullshit
1/15/2006 2:47:39 AM
Chuck's FSU NC ring could double as a softball... it's only a little bigger than his chest.
1/15/2006 3:56:01 AM
probably not, not that i would be really opposed to getting one, i just dont want to buy itplus the only jewelry i can really stand to wear is a watch much less anything else...
1/15/2006 8:27:48 AM
I justpicked one out of the catalog
1/15/2006 9:10:31 AM
All I can say is that I really wish I had ordered mine last year when we had a choice. I think the women's ring is WAY to bog so I just got the smallest and cheapest alternative. I almost didnt get one at all but my dad thought it was really important. The one is got isnt so bad and its probably the least huge and extravagant of them all.
1/15/2006 1:09:39 PM
i can't decide if i want to get a class ring from undergrad, or wait till after grad school...i guess there is no guarantee i'm going to grad schooland i do love my alma mater
1/15/2006 1:12:05 PM
how common is it to have a ring from grad school instead of undergrad? (is there a 'rule'?)
1/15/2006 5:36:50 PM
wonder that too, put both on 1 finger!!!![Edited on January 15, 2006 at 6:33 PM. Reason : our colors are much pertier than floridas]

1/15/2006 6:39:24 PM
do people really still buy school/class rings?[Edited on January 15, 2006 at 6:46 PM. Reason : and wear them?]
1/15/2006 6:46:43 PM
uhmoften a college ring is a sign of professionalism
1/15/2006 6:49:06 PM
i know i wouldn't wear a class ring if i were to buy one, so i'm not going to spend $200 on a paper weight. i don't really have an opinion on the appearance of the official ring, though
1/15/2006 7:26:30 PM
My parents got me one when I graduated a few years ago. It kind of looks like the official one, but we didn't have an "official" ring back in 02. I don't think the new design looks too bad.
1/17/2006 3:57:50 PM
class rings are retarded
1/17/2006 4:01:24 PM
I have no intentions of getting one. Now, this might be because I got a really nice one back in high school and promptly lost it, but eh.
1/17/2006 4:08:46 PM
that shit is hot
