anyone have a firm they would recomend? probably dont have a case but i want to at least talk to them and get their opinion
1/12/2006 5:14:37 PM
All we need is more greedy fuckers driving up our healthcare costs.
1/12/2006 5:22:50 PM
well they shouldnt have messed up
1/12/2006 5:28:28 PM
Well, they're human too.but there's a difference between "messing up" as far as making a mistake, and negligence. If a dr. is truly negligent, then he should get sued. But if he did his due diligence but was still wrong about something, I don't think a lawsuit is warranted. anyway, i don't know your situation, but from the sounds of it ("probably don't have a case") i'd guess it wasnt negligence.
1/12/2006 5:35:04 PM
i was mislead about what tests were being done and it led to serious injuryit was negligancei just need to talk to one of them and see if there is enough evidence to prove it
1/12/2006 5:46:10 PM
or any good lawyers in general that might be able to direct me to someone
1/12/2006 8:12:51 PM
how about the whole back story?
1/12/2006 8:17:43 PM
nope
1/12/2006 8:18:32 PM
Patrick Williams is a good friend of mine, and a good attorney who might be able to help you. We went to law school together, and he is a State grad too.His website is www.batchwilliams.com, and he has contact information there and also a live chat link available.I'm an attorney too, but our medical malpractice group generally does only defense work.Good luck!

you're the exact reason why i decided not to go into medicine
1/13/2006 11:02:33 AM
I'd be retired and a millionare if i had sued my doctor within 3 years...
1/13/2006 11:14:34 AM
1/13/2006 11:37:23 AM
probably more scared of morally bankrupt fucknuts looking for any excuse to sue and get rich quick.
1/13/2006 11:41:29 AM
yeah thats what im doinggg einstein
1/13/2006 11:42:56 AM
This is what gets to me:Most doctors have the goal of trying to improve a patient's life. Sure, doctors are human and are capable of making mistakes, but what other people don't realize is that everyone's body chemistry is different. That's why some people fare better with some antihistamines and not others; this is true of depression medicine as well. So when we have people out there trying to sue their doctor who most often wish the well being of their patients, the doctors are too scared to do anything anymore
1/13/2006 11:51:54 AM
That also explains why everyone is dropping pre-med and becoming pre-dents.
1/13/2006 12:03:42 PM
how do tests being performed lead to serious injury? Did they say they were gonna draw some blood and end up giving you a spinal tap?
1/13/2006 12:23:27 PM
saying you are going to do a test and not actually doing that test
1/13/2006 12:35:44 PM
It sounds to me that you're just looking for free money.
1/13/2006 12:44:52 PM
1/13/2006 12:49:05 PM
but how did said test lead to serious injury?
1/13/2006 12:50:28 PM
it takes two to tangoshitty doctors + opportunistic lawyers
1/13/2006 12:51:48 PM
they would have discovered something that left unchecked caused permanent damage
1/13/2006 12:52:16 PM
don't blame the lawyers, it's the people that think everybody "owes" them somethingfuck your sense of entitlement.
1/13/2006 12:54:31 PM
1/13/2006 12:56:12 PM
frat dudes are supposed to be loaded...and now you need a lawsuit to add to your richesthat's fucked up
1/13/2006 12:57:44 PM
If you told the whole story and not just fragments, people might sympathize instead of judge you. ...unless it has to do with getting the herp, then I understand why you're being vague.
1/13/2006 12:59:07 PM
1/13/2006 12:59:25 PM
Ya, I was pre-med and switched over to pre-dent. Dentists really do not have an issue with malpractice...it's more on the doctor's side. That's one of the main reasons why i switched over to avoid the headache of frivolous lawsuits. It is true that the malpractice insurance for dentists have sky rocketed.
1/13/2006 1:01:58 PM
i figured. most of those fucks couldn't get into mcdonalds.are you sure you want to be a dentist? you don't seem to know anything about it.
1/13/2006 1:02:43 PM
Every year, there's a new record of people applying to dental schools. No one wants to be a doctor anymore.
1/13/2006 1:04:13 PM
1/13/2006 1:09:47 PM
^ not to mention, you don't want to type stuff here that can be held against you
1/13/2006 1:16:22 PM
Malpractice insurance is expensive, but the average doctor still takes home close to $200,000 after paying it. Med Mal insurance only accounts for 2% of all health care spending. Its not keeping people away from medicine. Its very hard to actually win/bring a med mal case. Its not malpractice just because a doctor did something another would not have done.
1/13/2006 1:42:23 PM
^ now thats just fuzzy math ok
1/13/2006 1:45:10 PM
Doctors are doing their best to greedily drive up our healthcare costs too. They aren't exactly out there to serve humanity. Greedy doctors and greedy patients makes it a balanced eco-system.

hey n00b who hasn't given any real information; from the little we have, it really does look like you're a "want to get rich" dipshit. Not saying you are, but you know...
1/14/2006 2:48:09 AM
HEY I THINK I'LL TELL YOU ALL THE DETAILS BECAUSE I CARE ABOUT HOW YOU PERCEIVE MEn00b

I have come to realize that every man's worst enemy is a lawyer because they can mess your life up so much. I couldn't handle a case in which I knew that my client was just out to make money.
1/15/2006 9:06:33 PM
Leaving a medical instrument inside the patient ... negligenceAmputating the wrong limb ... negligenceNot giving you the "right" answer the first time, but basing that answer on real data ... diligent error[/thread]
1/15/2006 9:15:57 PM
Alright, how about I make a radical proposal....We eliminate all health care workers and we all start dying at the age our ancestors died at...say 30's, early 40's? So while you all bitch about how some doctors can be humans at times and threaten to sue the shit out of them, that's a great way to reward the health care system for their efforts to improve our lives and extend our life expectancy.
1/15/2006 11:18:15 PM
^ btw my post was directed at the original post ... not you I agree with youI can see suing the doc for gross negligence, but generally speaking if you aren't dead, paralyzed, or seriously inhibited as direct result of something the doctors did you probably don't (or shouldn't) have a case.
1/15/2006 11:22:34 PM
My prediction is that in the next 10 years, the medical field will experience serious setbacks. This is because while potential medical students who are highly qualified switch over to dentistry, the medical schools are forced to select less qualified students and as a result, the advancement of medicine will slow. So while those few individuals win these massive malpractice suits, more and more potential pre-meds switch over and pursue dentistry, and our healthcare will ultimately suffer because of these few selfish individuals.[Edited on January 15, 2006 at 11:28 PM.
