so I went to kinkos and got 5 copies of my resume and nortel specific cover letter printed on nice paper...should I staple them?

in the professional world, stapling your resume = bad

binder clips or paper clips are the way to go

If you have a padfolio or nice looking folder I'd keep everything in that. Gives you something to hold on to so your hands aren't hanging limp with nothing to do.

my dad works at nortel, they go through a series of lay offs so watch out

ooooh i worked at nortel, i loved it. but that was more of a function of the team i was on instead of the company

you should be more selective about where you will work. getting stuck in a shitty company with no raises or opportunities for advancement, benefits, or security is not worth the comfort of knowing you got a job right now.

A crappy real world industry job is better than a job in retail any day.

i accepted another job over Nortel was I was job hunting.

that being said, i would have taken the Nortel job if I had no other offers because any type of experience/work is better then sitting at home not doing anything.

good luck! i found my Nortel interview to be fairly relaxed and low key.
