last night's ephttp://www.mininova.org/tor/198270the funny thing to me is, do some people not realize colbert is a character? I mean, that he's not serious? This girl seems sort of actually to be trying to discredit colbert.
1/13/2006 9:11:40 AM
I'd really like to think the professor was just playing along...
1/13/2006 9:18:44 AM
i think he definitely "gets it."

1/13/2006 9:52:54 AM
^Yeah, that 1st quote is hilarious. Unfortunately, some people don't understand the concept of his show, or his character. They are not the heroes.I guess Adams is now one of the heroes, and by that I mean someone who watches the show.[Edited on January 13, 2006 at 9:55 AM. Reason : Hero]

It's taken me a while to warm up to the Colbert Report to be honest. I can't quite figure out why, yet. I'm getting more used to his O'Reilly (which has gotten better as the show's progressed), but still wish he could go one episode without stuttering at least once.I mean...c'mon. If Jon Stewart can do it as fast as he talks during his show, surely the truthy French guy can, too.
1/13/2006 10:54:14 AM
^ the problem is Jon is being himself and saying what he wants to say, so it comes out naturally. Since Colbert is playing a character, he has to stay in character the whole show by reading lines and putting on a different personality. Much harder to do I think, but he is getting better and the show is still picking up steam. I thought it started good, then it would fizzle, but luckily, the opposite's happened. but anyway - i'm disappointed at the lost opportunities for the media (and Colbert) to use the word truthiness in their coverage of this story!
1/13/2006 11:05:03 AM
I think Colbert is better than Stewart, personally.
1/13/2006 11:21:53 AM
^lets lay off the crazy juice.
1/13/2006 11:23:10 AM
completely different premise for each show.I like the lightness of the colbert report after watching jon stewart try to be all serious.
1/13/2006 11:34:59 AM
1/15/2006 1:55:24 AM
Man, that's my coolest teacher this semester. He mentioned the whole "truthiness" story in class
1/15/2006 2:27:32 AM
I find myself laughing at Colbert more than TDS, the new correspondents don't really do it for me
1/15/2006 10:20:10 AM
^^youve got adams?
1/15/2006 12:46:40 PM
^^ agreed - for flat out funniness, I think Colbert has TDS beat now. For 'intelligent satire' and current events, TDS is better, but for LOL funny Colbert is better.Rob Courdry is good of course. His son is ok, and Ed Helms is good. Samantha Bee has always sucked but I guess they need to keep their token female correspondent, and the red-haired guy mostly sucks too.
