i read the descriptions but which one is harder? im guessing 205 but 205 is shorter?

205 is for Engineers and 201 is for BUS majors?

My friend who started in Engineering hadta take 205, and hadta beg & plead to get it to count as 201 when she switched to BUS.

if you take hyman for 205 i cant imagine there being a 201 class that is easier.

i think since 205 is a combo of macro and micro, he touches on more basics, but if you took 201 you might go more in depth into micro stuff. i never took 201 though (took 301) so i cant say for sure.

ive also heard craig is awesome by everyone whose ever had him, so you might want to try taking him too.

Econ is not easy to everyone. It may be easy to some, but not to all. So proceed carefully.
Both courses are similar in terms of the type and amount of work. One is not easier than the other. The difference IS:

EC 201 is a full semester course in microeconomics, focussing on the dynamics between producers and consumers. It looks at suppy, demand, price, price elasticity, opportunity costs and curves, how these dynamics change under monopolies, etc. Anything that effects the producer and consumer relationship.

EC 205 is a one semester overview of BOTH micro and macro economics. It is like smushing EC 201 and 202 together. Macroeconomics centers on big players and aspects in an economy like taxation (revenue), employment and inflation, relationships between the two, government expenditures, the money supply, money as it travels througout an economy, interest rates, investment, the role of the FED in managing our national economy.

EC 201 and 202 are required for business majors because business majors need to have full information and background in both areas. Engineers need to have some idea of what happens in both areas, but their entire careers are not based on EC as much as they are preparation in math and physics.

Both EC 201 and 205 are great courses, you will just have a bit less micro in 205 and some more macro whereas in EC 201 it is all micro.
