Theres been a few other loose threads but like last year the guru, me , will start a thread to bring all the chaos together. This is for ALL colleges, not just NC State... you have to know about other teams as well people...BIG weekend coming up Army All American Game... lot of the big names will probably announce again like they did last year.Mitch Mustain said he was probably NOT going to announce at the game
1/5/2006 6:03:27 PM
Dave Mustain? ROCK ON!
1/5/2006 6:04:50 PM
Jarrell Miller6th ranked ILB from Va said he was definitely leaving the state so that rules out Va. and Va. Tech. Two front runners are Tennessee and those bitches 20 miles down the road
1/5/2006 6:06:48 PM
^^ exactly, how do you not have long hair with the name Mustain
1/5/2006 6:07:10 PM
If he announces Tennessee it's going to be funny. He or Johnathan Crompton are going to rot on the bench for 4 years. Well, I guess if he sticks with Arkansas, his talent will be wasted there too
1/5/2006 6:07:31 PM
How do you figure? Clausen is gone, Ainge was horrible last year and does not have a hold on the position at all. Hell, if anything QB is one of the best position when it comes to potential early playing time for a badass prospect.
1/5/2006 6:11:48 PM
LaMarcus Bond (3-Star WR, 4.4 40) is down to three teams:Va - everyone assumed he was going thereECU - no way he goes there IMONC State
1/5/2006 6:21:43 PM
1/5/2006 6:24:34 PM
1/5/2006 6:25:01 PM
Ainge will be a Junior btw...and what you descibed happens all the time at major schools.
1/5/2006 6:26:24 PM
^^ yeah I agree, from what I have read if he was sticking with Va he would have announced already... and I dont see State losing a WR to fucking ECU.
1/5/2006 6:27:26 PM
^^ Good catch. Right you areI realize it happens, but very rarely with such highly touted players. I'm by no means saying UT is wrong for it... you get the best you can. I just think we'll see one of the two transfer if it happens[Edited on January 5, 2006 at 6:28 PM. Reason : arrows]

1/5/2006 6:32:24 PM
haha, there is a quote from him saying he wasnt going to stay in state, so if thats true, VT is out. Everywhere I have looked at had it VT, UNC, UT."The 6-foot-3, 235-pounder plans to announce his choice from the final five schools of North Carolina, Florida, Tennessee, Virginia and Virginia Tech at the All-Star game."of course, all that can change by the time Saturday rolls around.[Edited on January 5, 2006 at 6:39 PM. 1/5/2006 6:37:56 PM
yeah i saw the quote, and packbacker, the information i'm citing actually comes from a VT insider who has apparently been right quite a bit about virginia athletics. just reporting what i've heard
1/5/2006 6:40:19 PM
so was this before or after the quote?

Some tidbits from ESPN:The U.S. Army put out a release listing the prospects they expect to announce their verbal commitments at Saturday's All-American game (Jan. 7, 1 p.m. EST). They are: ESPN 150 WR http://insider.espn.go.com/ncf/recruiting/tracker/player?recruitId=22804, Lemoore (Lemoore, Calif.), ESPN 150 WR Terrance Austin, Long Beach Poly (Long Beach, Calif.), ESPN's No.2 OLB Allen Bradford, Colton (Colton, Calif.), OG Matt Carufel, Cretin-Derham Hall (St. Paul, Minn.), ESPN's No. 2 CB Jai Eugene, Destrehan (Destrehan, La.), ESPN's No. 3 DE Maurice Evans, Christ the King (Middle Village, N.Y.), DT Joseph Faifili, Kahuku (Kahuku, Hawaii), ESPN 150 RB Michael Goodson, Collins (Klein, Texas), ESPN 150 DT Derrick Hill, McClymonds (Oakland, Calif.), ESPN 150 OT Butch Lewis, Regis Jesuit (Aurora, Colo.), ESPN 150 RB LeSean McCoy, Bishop McDevitt (Harrisburg, Pa.), ILB Jarrell Miller, Highland Springs (Highland Springs, Va.), ESPN's No. 1 ranked RB DeMarco Murray, Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas, Nev.), 7.0 DE Robert Rose, Glenville (Glenville, Ohio), ESPN's No. 4 CB Devin Ross, Rancho Cucamonga (Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.), ESPN 150 ILB Brandon Spikes, Crest (Shelby, N.C.) and ESPN 150 CB A.J. Wallace, McDonough (Pomfret, Md.). Speaking to people in San Antonio about Mitch Mustain, observing him throughout the week and interviewing him on Media Day, it's clear the super-talented quarterback is still as vague as ever about his college choice -- and rightfully so. The rumor mill, speculation and non-stop media pressure that has surrounded him since he re-opened his recruitment has afforded him the right to take control of his situation. We believe that regardless of who he says are his final four choices (Notre Dame, Tennessee, Alabama and Arkansas)are , Mustain may just be toying with the many internet recruiting services. For example, Mustain wore a Notre Dame "Play Like a Champion Today" towel at practice, and we know that unless one of the Irish's two quarterback commits decides to sign elsewhere, he will not be going there. They do not have room for him now, though he did have an opportunity to commit to them over the summer. Let's not forget that the Irish also have to look at 2007 prospect Jimmy Clausen when thinking about their future plans. Don't be surprised if Mustain wears an Arkansas towel at the game on Saturday just to stir the waters even more. Had a chance to visit offensive guard Jacques McClendon. Vols fans can breathe a little easier as the athletic guard told me "I am 100% Tennessee." After taking some visits, McClendon feels better about his original decision. "It brought ease to me that I made the right choice," said McClendon. While he came to San Antonio with the idea of playing guard, Vol fans will be surprised to see the big man lining up as a defensive tackle in the All-Star game. No need worry though, as McClendon will be heading to Knoxville as a guard. McClendon said, "I will be playing right guard for Tennessee next year." It seems the East is short on defensive tackles, so McClendon volunteered to move to help the team. He said, "I thought I would help them out, whatever it takes to help the team." That is a great attitude and should have Tennessee fans excited about the fact that this talented player decided to stay in state and be a Volunteer. Visited with linebacker Jarrell Miller out of Highland Springs, Virginia at Media day. Miller will be making his announcement at the game on Saturday, choosing between Florida, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Virginia Tech. Some of the factors that are helping Miller make his choice are being able to play early, relationship with the coaches and being able to grow as a person, student and player. While he is a top linebacker prospect, Miller will be playing some offense in the All-American Bowl in two-back situations but added he will definitely get some reps in at linebacker.

yeah, was Feb 2nd last year, not sure this year but I am pretty sure its late Jan
1/6/2006 11:43:07 AM
Like i said, I'm pretty sure its always the first Wednesday in February. That would make it February 1st this year.
1/6/2006 11:56:11 AM
ok, I was just going by some article I read before Christmas that said "less than a month until signing day" they might have been rounding a bit ahah
1/6/2006 12:00:50 PM
^^That's right.It's February 1 this year.
1/6/2006 12:11:23 PM
All American Game is at 1 bitches... lots of players announcing... was pretty damn entertaining last year
1/7/2006 4:01:43 AM
Percy Harvin (#2 overall player, #1 receiver) is headed to Florida State. He announced it on local news back home over the break. What I would give for State to get a name this big.

ok, was about to say wow, thats a big last minute change
1/7/2006 2:07:07 PM
is there a correlation with Florida recruiting so well and Doc Holliday being there? I miss Doc
1/7/2006 2:10:46 PM
^Yes. But Urban Meyer and the fact that they are in Florida doesn't hurt either.
1/7/2006 2:11:56 PM
Yeah, big name SEC school + new coach + lots of hype...
1/7/2006 2:16:26 PM
I really didnt like Jimmy Clausen's response about Tennessee hahaha.well, hopefully with a year to work on him Fulmer can snag him. He is amazing for how freaking young he is.his sophomore stats were retarded3,600 yards, 58 TDs, 6 INTsand both Casey and Rick said that he is already WAY beyond their level
1/7/2006 2:29:42 PM
bah, was boring as shit this year. didnt have nearly as many people deciding during the game. no major suprises.
1/7/2006 6:35:49 PM
Right now, NC State isn't fairing too well recruiting according to Scout.com.17. Florida State 18. Miami (Fl) 21. Clemson 23. North Carolina 26. Maryland 27. Virginia Tech 34. Boston College t42. Virginia 44. Georgia Tech 45. Duke 55. North Carolina State 67. Wake Forest We don't even have any 4 or 5 star recruits and only 3 recruits from NC. I hope something changes shortly.http://scout.scout.com/a.z?s=178&p=9&c=14&view=2&yr=2006
1/19/2006 8:39:11 AM
It is like this every year.
1/19/2006 9:38:11 AM
how do you figure that? We usually have a top30 recruiting class. I think we'll end up better than 55th, because we are still trying to recruit about 5 or 6 guys that are awesome. They haven't committed to anywhere yet.
1/19/2006 10:30:31 AM
we always have a late surgedid you just start following Wolfpack athletics this year?
1/19/2006 10:31:56 AM
