Yeah but the sex in those shows was always secondary, in the background. We all knew that Picard would hit it (Dr. Crusher, I mean), but it was almost never thrown in the audience's faces.

And as for Uhura, let's be fair here. ALL the women on that show wore miniskirts, and ALL of them were fairly hot.
