hopefully because there weren't enough trumpet playersthey just went into the fight song and it wasn't the sameoh and there were a bunch of empty student seatsand some of the student section behind the backboards were apparently tickets that were soldother than that...we won
12/30/2005 9:25:27 PM
They need to get rid of that gay ass "Alright ya'll we gon' start a new tradition this year" shit before the game. /lameBut the "Fast Fight" kicks ass
12/30/2005 9:26:24 PM
apparently the online ticket system sucks fucking nutsat least that's what I've noticed
12/30/2005 9:26:40 PM
they need to get rid of all the pregame except the highlight thing the put up before the team comes outthe clapping and the intro suck
12/30/2005 9:28:41 PM
What ever happened to the newspapers during opponent introductions? I don't think they still do that. That's a Reynolds tradition that needs to stick around... but I haven't noticed it lately (Maybe i missed it)
12/30/2005 9:35:49 PM
Do you think something that lame and obvious actually affects the other team at all?
12/30/2005 9:38:12 PM
No... but it's funny. It's our history man. Gotta keep the Reynolds traditions alive (Which is where "Fast Fight" comes from). We've been doing that since the 50's[Edited on December 30, 2005 at 9:39 PM. Reason : or possibly 60's... I think that one was started by Case as well]
12/30/2005 9:38:56 PM
I hate that fat black nigger who claps, its the same fat black nigger who yells in the microphone at the football gamesFuck that guy
12/30/2005 9:45:27 PM
^fuck you for hating on mean gene. he and slappy will forever be legends for their halftime dances during the first year of the esa's existance
12/30/2005 9:45:49 PM
I think they skipped fast fight because the pep band was too old to run fast around the court.I like the clapping at the beginning, but they really need to do away with the video.
12/30/2005 10:48:07 PM
Pep band was old and I only saw four trumpets.I don't mind the Mean Gene intro (though they can cut the "new pregame tradition" part) but the Corchiani video that serves the same purpose is much better.
12/30/2005 10:56:51 PM
yeah, the whole band is in Charlotte for the bowl game. It sucks that they missed such a big game tonight. hopefully it will be worth it tomorrow

12/30/2005 11:31:05 PM
^ It's their thing that they do...the same thing happens with the football intro video that subsequently gets killed by Mr./Ms. Wuf howling at midfield.
12/30/2005 11:47:14 PM
why were the student sections so empty....that ticks me off when the online distribution says there are no more seats - is there a student will call kinda thing at the rbc center where they have the tickets that didnt get distributed?
12/31/2005 3:02:22 AM
Estimated demand ended up with only ~800 student tickets being distributed. The rest were sold to the public. Most looked pretty full to me (other than the North end), even if they weren't full of students. There's no provision for extra student tickets to be distributed later because effectively there are no leftovers as with the paper system...the leftovers are released into the general ticket pool (that's how I understand it).It kinda sucks.
12/31/2005 3:14:53 AM
if they had extra tickets in the system, they could have someone with a computer at a window and you could go up to the window and tell them how many you need and if they had that many available they could print them out for you

I was one of the only two actual pep band trumpets to show up. All of the rest of the trumpets were gone to the bowl game. The rest of the trumpets that can were alumni and high school kids that didn't know how to play fast fight. We tried to get the director to let three of us do it, but he wouldn't let us. Sorry everybody, Fast Fight will be back at the next game and for the rest of the season.

The normal student side was filled to almost max capacity, but the Wolfpack Club side was not even filled on some of the halfcourt rows. It was pitiful that the SWPC couldnt show a little more support. I dont care if there is a football game, it was the next day. If you are the ones that are going to be on tv, then you better show your ass up, that side was not even close to as full as it should have been. If the WPC cant fill out all their seats, they should go to the general auction.

my photos from the night make it look alot more packed than i remember it.^ is right, the SWPC side was spotty.[Edited on January 1, 2006 at 11:13 AM. Reason : one more photo]

For those of yall that haven't heard..... Every sports-bar or related restaurant with a TV was PACKED with state fans Friday Night watching the Basketball team play. There was almost no where to eat and hardly any room to watch the game. SOOOO before yall start bashing students....there were alot of them at the bowl game too
1/1/2006 5:04:03 PM
^^^^ I agree.I'm in the SWPC and one of the few die-hards at EVERY event cheering loudly. I went to the bball game Friday and was as loud as possible, then got up at 5am to make the bowl game in charlotte. I think the SWPC needs a way to penalize those students who don't use their tickets like the online system has because half the people who get tickets dont use them until its a duke or carolina game which really isnt fair. Our seats were the 3rd row but we moved up to the front row because until 30 seconds before the game we were the only people in our section.
