depends on your relationship with him, and how serious its supposed to be. if he's an alcoholic, probably not such a hot idea

Yeah. If the guy is really into pounding brews, it's a cool gift. My roommate has one and it's fun to see how screwed up everyone is.

But If he's just kinda into drinking, it would be kind of unexpected when he unwraps a pocket breathalyzer.

Really, just depends on the type of guy.
