who made it as CB? and first and second alternate? i'm kinda surprised lucas is all the way down at 3rd and gamble isnt even on there, but then i probably just havent paid enough attention to CBs this season. i figure ronde barber is up there somewhere, but i dont know who else after that.[Edited on December 21, 2005 at 2:52 PM. How the hell did Delhomme make the Pro Bowl team
12/21/2005 2:55:49 PM
About 5 years ago the NFC was always Aikman, Young, Favre. Now look who they are.
12/21/2005 2:59:40 PM
hahaha I bet Delhomme took Vick's automatic hype spot
12/21/2005 3:15:06 PM
^No, Vick made it as well, I checked, haha, can't believe he made it.Vick made it and Eli Manning didn't...that's just weird looking at their seasons. I figure Hasselback got one of the spots as well, but there's no telling.

eli had the number one passing stats in the whole nfc last time I checked
12/21/2005 3:35:45 PM
That's pretty ridiculous. Eli led all NFC quarterbacks in fan voting; guess that shows how much the fan voting really matters.Manning is a THIRD alternate. Who in the hell else is in front of him I wonder?[Edited on December 21, 2005 at 3:40 PM. Reason : ...]

pro bowls are picked by players, right?

Chris Simms!

Delhomme and Vick made it, and Eli didn't? That's not right.
12/21/2005 4:01:35 PM
they should send manning, hassel..., and brunnel/bledsoe
12/21/2005 4:16:26 PM
How the fuck did Vick or Delhomme make it? At least Delhomme is on a good team. What a joke, oh yea, i forgot, VICK >= god

salisbury is still Vick's bitchhis reasoning was basically: vick still scares defensive coordinators

I think its pretty unbelievable how Larry Johnson is near the league lead in rushing yards after hardly playing the first 6 or 7 weeks of the season
12/21/2005 5:26:49 PM
yeah i think they said that he was 4th in rushing and started just 7 games

me and my roomate were just looking and noticed jon vilma was not on there. He is leading the league in tackles. Is that not good enough?
12/21/2005 9:38:46 PM
What a surprise!!!!!!!!The players picked VicK??????I wonder why...Perhaps its because he's better than the other QB's in the NFC (although Hasslebeck had a better season)Delhomme over Eli is pretty questionable though. BUt Eli had some pretty rough games too...
12/21/2005 11:35:57 PM
I went to the Academy with Mike Wahle...if you've ever wanted a good example of what steroids will do to a guy, he's a prime example. Came in as a scrawny WR and "left" early to be drafted as an O-line
12/21/2005 11:43:10 PM
Vilma should atleast be an alternate
12/22/2005 12:18:19 AM
12/22/2005 12:39:25 AM
^Looking at stats and team records, Delhomme deserved to be on that team MUCH more than Vick did. So you should rephrase that..."How the hell did Delhomme Vick make the Pro Bowl team? "[Edited on December 22, 2005 at 12:45 AM. Reason : .]
12/22/2005 12:45:31 AM
vilma and the jets should be raising hell, this is a huge snub
12/22/2005 12:46:38 AM
^^ aye
12/22/2005 12:57:39 AM
usually, players on the losing teams don't get selected to pro bowls. Some players also made it to the pro bowl based on reputation alone. (Larry Allen and Roy Williams)
12/22/2005 1:01:59 AM
Yeah Vilma deserves to be in the pro bowl, he had a solid season. But alas it's true, losing teams usually get snubbed, even if there are a few bright spots that deserve recognition.
12/22/2005 1:12:24 AM
rallydurham loves vick flavored cocki liked that nfc defense a lot better under its former name, the chicago bears defense
12/22/2005 1:20:31 AM
How bout that dude from the colts? If anything he got snubbed. Telling your friends and fam that you made the pb, then woops. pretty fucked up if ya ask me. They owe him for that. The league that is.
12/22/2005 1:29:24 AM
you mean reggie wayne? he's overrated in my opinion. He certainly gonna cash in in free agency due to playing opposite of Marvin Harrison.
12/22/2005 2:09:44 AM
No, tarik glenn, the tackle. He was just on sportscenter, dungy was pretty pissed about it
12/22/2005 2:19:30 AM
I wonder if Vick made it b/c of his name value...but i agree Manning has put up better #'s!
12/22/2005 2:26:42 AM
peppers pretty much got in on name value tooI'd say Torry Holt too, he didnt have his best seasonguess if I'm going to call Vick out on it, I can't be using double standards
12/22/2005 2:29:41 AM
12/22/2005 2:36:34 AM
^Well how the heck should we determine who makes the pro bowl?!?If you look at stats: Delhomme was betterIf you look at team wins: Delhomme was betterJake has more yards, more TD's, a couple more INT's, better QB rating, better completion percentage, and less sacks. Heck, add Vick's rushing yards to passing yards and he still doesn't have as many total yards as Jake. You use to say that winning was all that mattered, and this year Vick hasn't won as many as Jake. I'm not a big Jake supporter, but I don't see anything that justifies Vick making the Pro Bowl period, let alone over Jake or Eli Manning. What reasoning do you have behind that?Vick made it on hype and name alone, and NO ONE can argue that.howevermany^Yeah they screwed that tackle from Indy. If you tell a guy he makes it, and then something screws up, then you should let BOTH of them be on it.[Edited on December 22, 2005 at 9:51 AM. Reason : .]
12/22/2005 9:50:34 AM
^ oh okay so I guess Vick's rushing TD's don't count...And rushing yards are worth more than passing yards (I established this a long time ago) so don't even try to add passing yards + rushing yards and act like that's an accurate representation.Vick was much better than Delhomme this year, thats plain as day.If you didn't see that, then you didn't watch the games. No one in their right mind would argue that Delhomme had a good season.Vick did more to help his team win than Jake did. Put Jake Delhomme with a disgraceful defense and no WR's and let's see how many wins he gets. I guarandamntee you he isn't 8-5 like Vick.BTW, subtract one of Delhomme's "victories" because we would have lost the Detroit game had Weinke not come in to rescue his ass.
12/22/2005 9:59:48 AM
I got news for all you panther haters out there....Jake Delhomme is one of the best QB's in the NFC. Are the AFC QB's better? No question. But the fact remains Jake earned his spot. Eli Manning maybe should have been picked over Vick. However, 14 of Mannings 16 Interceptions have come in the red zone and has a QB rating of 75. Not very impressive if you ask me. The person who was ripped off the most was Ken Lucus. He should have been way higher than 3rd alt. Does anyone really think DeAngelo Hall should have gotten the spot over Lucus?
12/22/2005 10:06:20 AM
Eli did NOT deserve to make it. He is a strictly pocket passer (therefore doesn't add anything else like Vick does) and his rating was ~75. Hell, Drew Bledsoe [and hell throw in Brunell if you want to as well] deserved it before Eli Manning did if you want to look purely at numbers.** Oh and for Ty Law to make it instead of Vilma from the Jets is crap.[Edited on December 22, 2005 at 10:11 AM.
