some discussion on the Millionaires threadhttp://thewolfweb.com/message_topic.aspx?topic=357298&page=2
12/15/2005 8:40:36 AM
His web site is ugly and he looks like a douche. But he's rich, so gg m8.
12/15/2005 11:25:04 AM
but if you are making $150K a year, does that make you a millionaire? i mean, being a millionaire would imply that you've got at least one million dollars in potentially liquid assets?$150K a year, subtract the taxes... it'd still take a while to gain $1 million, right?BUT, i suppose with my level of income, it'd take a whole lot longer than that... so i should stop with the analysis-ZiP!-
12/15/2005 11:52:19 AM
So wait a minute, he is just selling bean bags? wtf?
12/15/2005 12:06:47 PM
12/15/2005 12:08:45 PM
Looks like all he did was design a website....hes just reselling someone elses product. Anyone who can put together a secure website and get yourself set up as a business so you can get wholesale prices can do this.
12/15/2005 8:31:15 PM
the most amazing part of all of this is:people pay one hundred or more fxcking dollars for that POS?!?!?!
12/15/2005 9:00:58 PM
^^ but everyone didn't. he did and now he is on track to retire at 34.props where props are due. It's not like he is a genius -- he just found a good niche.
12/15/2005 9:24:32 PM
too bad its not an original idea... try luvsac.comMuch cooler sacsHes just an internet copy cat... sure thats business.... but no originality points
12/15/2005 9:55:52 PM
really how can anyone hate on this guy? Sure maybe it didnt take much technical ability, and yea its not the most exciting product to sell. But he took a risk, and didnt settle with working for someone else. who gives a shit if its original or not.
12/15/2005 10:01:09 PM
haha..i fucking love drop-shipping. I've been selling other peoples items on ebay since high school. I never even touch the actual product. Granted, i dont do near that much in sales per year, but I make a good amount at it.
12/15/2005 10:35:01 PM
That just makes me want to do online sales, but since I'm even less original than this guy, I'd probably end up with ihavechairstoo.com.
12/15/2005 10:45:19 PM
12/16/2005 8:29:49 AM
haha, Y2K. that whole thing was a SCAM
12/16/2005 8:36:25 AM
it's not unoriginal, but he could be doing a lot better than he isthere's at least an immediate 2-3x increase in audience that he could reach with just a slight tweak on his marketingthankfully he's not doing what he could because seeing the story a couple of months ago led me to quite an idea and i think it's going to work out rather well
12/16/2005 9:12:31 AM
lol. that's funny... I just bought a poof pillow the other day online And now that I look at the website, I think it was his!! His where the cheapest I found and didnt have shipping cost.
12/16/2005 11:53:53 PM
What is this guy going to do when the manufacturer wises up and creates a website?
12/17/2005 2:48:18 PM
oh wow, i bet the manufacturer hadn't thought of that......That's not their business model - they're full aware of what's going on, and that's what they want. You can find lists and lists of manufacturers that want to do drop shipping - they want to concentrate on what they're good at: making products. Not marketing, not dealing with customers, not finding new distribution channels. They probably have a dozen independent websites that sell their shit for them. The websites deal with finding customers, finding markets, taking orders, dealing with customer support, etc.
12/17/2005 3:05:05 PM
Thats true, but I think there may be a long term problem with his business model because it is so easily duplicated. Anyone willing to accept thinner profit margins could potentially ruin his business. That is the case with many businesses, but most are not duplicated as easily. He just needs to stay on top of it and and be aware of threats.

12/17/2005 4:26:05 PM
^ My friend and I were thinking about opening a luvsac franchise in MI but luvsac pepole said they were not doing any more non-corp stores....good to hear they are doing well, guess we missed out.
12/18/2005 9:19:15 PM
aw man that sucks. i dono a whole lot about the business end of it right now.(even tho thats what he does). they probably just hit a certain mark for awhile and didnt want to expand too fast like some companies do
