they're making a movie of that?Great. Now even more dumbasses will think they are experts on the history of Christianity.
12/14/2005 10:38:50 AM
I heard they got pressured by christian groups to change some parts, and to change the ending
12/14/2005 10:41:11 AM
what wrong with the ending?
12/14/2005 10:42:31 AM
is that the one where Jesus has an albino kid or something?
12/14/2005 10:47:39 AM
i dont know, just passing on something i had heard/read somewhere 4-5 months agothe catholics are mad at the whole damn story so i would not be surprised if they flexed some muscle on hollywood
12/14/2005 10:52:41 AM
looks pretty cool to me. and if you ever need a tough french guy, get jean reno actually, its amazing how the casting fits almost perfectly with what i had pictured, although i still would've taken harrison ford over hanks[Edited on December 14, 2005 at 11:07 AM. Reason : .]
12/14/2005 10:58:46 AM
eh, I think hanks is good...after all it's just a professor who gets thrown into the middle of the shitstorm...kind of like a teacher having to fight in WWII
12/14/2005 11:15:04 AM
Man, that trailer does not interest me one bit.
12/14/2005 11:28:11 AM
But Harrison Ford has played an adventurous professor!
12/14/2005 11:43:15 AM
i'll prolly rent this one
12/14/2005 12:07:16 PM
12/14/2005 12:11:59 PM
so?dumbasses think alot of thingsif it bothers you then you are also a dumbass
12/14/2005 1:44:23 PM
the guy who whips himself looks pretty freakyplus, this movie has gandalf and leon the professional
12/14/2005 1:51:47 PM
Christians don't like the book because it presents religous FICTION as fact, and the general ignorant public is just dumb enough to believe its true. It's gotta be in the Bible, the Di Vinci Code said so!
12/14/2005 2:10:30 PM
simon (the albino whip guy) looks like russell crowe's made up friend from beautiful mind. is that who it is?
12/14/2005 2:11:22 PM
Christians need to realize a lot of the shit the religion believes is fiction taken for fact...unless they really believe dudes lived to be 300 years old, that the workd was magically flooded for a month or so, etc, etcjust because it's old fiction doesn't make it any more true
12/14/2005 2:12:54 PM
Let me rephrase: This movie presents herecies that contradict scriptures and other historical accounts of Jesus' life and the history of the Church as fact.If you aren't a Catholic then you could probably care less whether they are making up facts about the Catholic Church. And if you aren't a Christian, you could probably care less if they are making up facts about the Bible and about Jesus' life.

The Da Vinci Code is a fantasy book, because it spouts out tales in regards to Christainity and sells them as uncovered truths. It's a great read though and hopefully a good movie.

12/14/2005 2:34:36 PM
what does it matter? if you don't believe what the book says, then you should be secure enough in your own beliefs to not care what someone else says.

ENTERTAINMENT[Edited on December 14, 2005 at 6:28 PM. Reason : h]

ENTERTAINMENT that some people seem to thank is a historically accurate depiction when it clearly isn't.Americans are ignorant enough as it is... the last thing we need is more fluff stamped FACT.
12/14/2005 6:35:29 PM
I'm sure a lot of people felt the same way about Passion of the Christ...
12/14/2005 6:45:05 PM
Let's face it, the historically inaccurate religious bullshit award has already been won. Victory, thy name is Passion.
12/14/2005 6:52:28 PM
^what hs did you go to?

^^^ couldn't see it - white jesus
12/14/2005 8:52:42 PM
actually, now that I've actually seen the trailer, it MIGHT do the book justice.well, probably not, but it might be worth the theater
12/14/2005 8:56:25 PM
looks pretty good to me, but ive never read the book.
12/14/2005 9:35:09 PM
i'm glad tom hanks grew his hair outi was expecting it to be buzzed or somethingi didn't recognize him at first and i'm glad about that
12/14/2005 9:47:06 PM
Was that dude pulling a daggertail out of his skin?
12/15/2005 9:19:27 AM
Looks damn good to me....can't wait
12/15/2005 11:34:42 AM
The trailer seems kind of generic to me, and I haven't read the book, but I'll still def. go see the movie.
12/15/2005 11:47:53 AM
I read "Holy Blood, Holy Grail" so im 100% cooler than all you sad fucks.
12/15/2005 12:03:28 PM
i read it too, but I like the theories about jesus proposed in "the jesus mysteries" more than the ones in "holy blood." Holy blood assumes that jesus actuallly existed. the jesus mysteries proves that he didn't.

12/15/2005 2:55:32 PM
it looks exactly like the book except in movie formi have no pressing need to see it kk.
12/15/2005 3:14:30 PM
It looked... over-produced, or soemthing. Things looked too perfect, too sharp, etc. Like the word box he pulls out... looked like something you'd find at Belk's on the $19.99 gift idea tables, not some historical relic. I dunno, I just thing things, including the people, should be dusty and unkept like it was in Indiana Jones most of the time.
