A long time ago when I first ripped some of my CDs, I ripped them as <SongName>-<TrackNumber>.mp3I don't use ID3 tags and would rather use the file names for the display info. I don't mind the basics. Anyhow, I want to move the track number to the front of the filename. In perl, I could do this no problem and do it quickly (as I have scripts at work that already do file renaming). But installing perl on a win32 setup just seems like blashpemy to me.Are there any good freeware programs that have a sort of regular expression renaming built in, or should I just go ahead and install perl?

http://www.activestate.com/Products/ActivePerl/if you can code it quick in perl, why waste time looking for a program to do it for you[Edited on December 9, 2005 at 9:24 PM. Reason : ?]

Im always anal about installing packages that might have a "big" (relative term) impact to my system or installing things at all. I like to keep my shit lean and stress free.
