How do i figure out what memory my computer can handle. Also how do i figure out what type and speed motherboard I have?

This is sort of going around your ass to get to your elbow, but you get always crack the case and get the motherboard number off the board, then go to Google and find the manual and read through it. I'm sure thats the long way, if its a name brand PC, I'm sure you could get what you are looking for by going to your manufacturer's tech support page.
