i think, but i'm not 100% sure, that it's set by the seller. usually the seller has to let you know "I ship out on Mondays and Wednesdays", or whatever their specs are, and the buyer, somewhere in their bid/winning bid, agrees to it.

Depends on the terms of the auction. Some sellers only ship one day of the week (ie: Saturday) so you if you win an auction Friday night and your paypal goes through Monday morning you won't see a tracking number until Saturday.

Quote :
" Shipping and handling charges are 10 dollars to anywhere within the USA and Canada and most western Countries - International buyers call for rates

Shipping is mostly by USPS priority mail and delivery should be expected within 2-3 days of after shipping. Item usually ships within 24 hours of payment.

Should you need item shipped express mail, contact us and we will be happy to ship it overnight for you can contact us at
"

i paid immediately, and got a confirmation from them 6:26 last friday evening.
I emailed them today, asking for a tracking number, and this is what the USPS site said:
Quote :
" Label/Receipt Number:
Status: Electronic Shipping Info Received

The U.S. Postal Service was electronically notified by the shipper or shipping partner on December 05, 2005 to expect your package for mailing. This does not indicate receipt by the USPS or the actual mailing date. Delivery status information will be provided if / when available. Information, if available, is updated every evening. Please check again later"

When i told him this, and asked what was up, he tried to tell me that sometimes USPS doesn't scan items into the system until delivery

looks like all i'll be able to do is leave rotten feedback

You'll get bad feedback in return if he hasn't already left a feedback.

i'm waiting until i actually get it.

he's welcome to leave rotten feedback. i'll go through ebay and report it as false, b/c there's nothing he can fuss about. i paid on time, and my one email to him was brief and courteous.
i also don't sell anything.

quit being a fucking idiot.

And yes the USPS is fucking horrible about tracking numbers. I got the tracking number for a recent ebay purchase the day it arrived (4 days after it was shipped).

Give the fucking guy a break and quit being a douchebag consumer.

WAIT until you get the package before you start shit, Christine.

Now, if you wait till Friday or even Monday, and still haven't gotten anything, okay, go for it. Maybe.

But mail sucks. I pray to god you aren't bitching about it if it's to WV. But I'm figuring it's to Matt's?

^USPS is horrible about updating. I have had that msg up to the date I GOT my package, that isnt the seller's fault.

when you get that email it's to let you know what day they shipped your package, and it is delivery confirmation... not tracking. It's just to protect them so there is proof you received it, and it tells you that they shipped it out on the 5th. When they pay for and print out the mailing label, it's dated and they have to mail it that day, it would tell you if they didn't.

you're talking about this:
The U.S. Postal Service was electronically notified by the shipper or shipping partner on December 05, 2005 to expect your package for mailing. This does not indicate receipt by the USPS or the actual mailing date. Delivery status information will be provided if / when available. Information, if available, is updated every evening. right?
it wasn't in an email, it IS tracking, and i take it that means he told USPS that he was going to have a package to be picked up on dec 5.

^he printed out the label (and most likely gave it to USPS) on December 5th. You won the game Friday, they shipped it Monday. That's more than reasonable.

USPS is slow as hell this time of year. I ordered stuff last year via Priority Mail and it took over a week to get here, whereas it normally takes 2-3 days.

you do realize that ebay wont remove it. you might not care, but ebay has no power to remove it unless he puts ur phone number in there or calls you a nigger or something. someone could leave you negative for the hell of it if they really wanted to and ebay wouldnt do a thing, thats why you dont leave feedback first as a seller (and not until you receive the item and it is good as a buyer).

[Edited on December 8, 2005 at 7:19 PM. Reason : ^ i got something from cali today that was shipped monday, so it isnt that slow right now]

there's a difference between tracking and delivery confirmation, and that is the "track now" message for delivery confirmation... Did you pay for a tracking number?? If not, you're lucky you got that telling you when they sent it out.

No, sellers have as much time as they state to send the item out, be fucking patient. I hope you didn't pay a astronomical shipping fee, and get bent over for it.

The shipping service, u.s post, dhl, nigger on a bike, whatever, they take time, and it's the holiday season, think outside the "package".

What's the worst that could happen to it, besides him pocketing your money and running of to neverland

agreed.

if you leave that guy negative feedback that is idiotic. he shipped it exactly when he was supposed to and for some reason you are upset about this?

people who buy things online and then complain about shipping are useless. Especially during the month of December. Give the seller a break on this one.

If you want something immediately go out and buy it in a, gasp!, store.

it's been nearly two weeks since I sent off my payment. I know that mail is incredibly slow this time around, and most sellers are putting some sort of statement in the shipping that it's that time of the year, and things won't get there nearly as fast as they ought.

You bought it Friday. He shipped it Monday. There is absolutely no problem with this, and as a seller, I do it all the time. It sounds like he even provided a reasonable shipping cost and went the extra mile to provide delivery confirmation.

Getting negative feedback (or even snide remarks in the positive feedback) for things like this is the absolute worst. If you leave negative feedback, I wouldn't be surprised at all if he left it back. In my opinion, it would be you in the wrong.
