Hear me now: From a developer's perspective, the bluetooth implementation on motorola phones is absolutely retched. these phones should be avoided at all costs if you want to ever use your motorola phone's bluetooth connection for anything other than a headset. That's all, i'm out.

this is true...wish i had known this before my gf spent $200 on a v710 (a total piece)

verizon has a replacement policy (part of a settlement) for the v710 customers. i think the conditions are if you owned a v710 before january, then you can get a full refund on your phone and accessories, a $25 credit on your account, or you can cancel your account with no termination fee.the settlement is because some people in CA (i think) sued verizon for advertising that you can transfer files, etc using bluetooth, whereas they jew you into using their network to transfer files by disabling the bluetooththe 'new' model of the 710 is the e815 (or something like that), which still has bluetooth crippled, but apparently is supposed to be easier to unlock

My Moto MPX220 bluetooth works quite well. What exactly is this implementation problem you are speaking of? From a consumer perspective, the Moto MPX220 bluetooth implementation is absolutely perfect.

I just got the E815 and Ive already found a hack to get bluetooth to allow me to transfer files over bluetoothand I am happy with that[Edited on December 8, 2005 at 2:57 PM. Reason : .]

^ Id like to know how you did that. I'm waiting for my refund voucher to come in the mail, and I'll probably go pick up an 815. I don't really care if I have file transfers or not, and I really like the 710, but if the 815 will let me do it, and it's free, why not?

actually, it has nothing to do with Motorola, it has to do with the carrier that locks out the bluetooth software so that you will have you use their data servicesif you get the unlock codes for the equipment, you can do anything[Edited on December 8, 2005 at 3:04 PM. Reason : trust me on this, i have 5 motorola phones with Cingular and everyone is the same til you unlock em]

verizon is gay and locks their bluetooth feature so u cant get ringtones and stuff from other people, i got an unlocked motorola v80 and that works great

my v551 worked well enough for ringtones and picture transfers...It's nothing compared to the sony w600 i just got tho

omfg verizon keeps you from violating intellectual and copyright protection lawsget the fuck over it or go to a shitty service provider
12/9/2005 2:27:54 AM
