12/7/2005 9:06:12 PM
free tv doesn't really existfree radio does
12/7/2005 9:08:06 PM
^ This ain't England, we ain't got no TV licenses.
12/7/2005 9:09:29 PM
I'm sorry, wtf?
12/7/2005 9:11:55 PM
^^^What do you call stations that broadcast their signals over the air. This includes HD broadcasts. I don't remember having to pay for those...

^^ You said free TV doesn't really exist. In England, you must have a license to operate a television, meaning that you have to pay to watch over the air broadcasts. We don't have such a license system here, so explain to me how there isn't any free TV.[Edited on December 7, 2005 at 11:06 PM. Reason : d]

the quality of free tv : the quality of pay tv :/: the quality of free radio : the quality of pay radioand this is from someone who doesn't have cable

^can you post the key to decipher the meaning of the above?
12/7/2005 11:33:27 PM
tthe quality of free tv is to the quality of pay tv not as the quality of free radio is to the quality of pay radioBasically the difference between free and pay tv is not equal to the difference between free and pay radio.

Radio stations don't give a fuck what their advertisers are saying, as long as they're getting paid.
12/7/2005 11:56:36 PM
what is "free" tv and "pay" tvyou arent paying the tv station, they are feeding you advertisementsyou pay a middle man that just sends you the shit from his sourceeither way the station broadcasting is making money so i dont know why 106.1 is whining

Ok, first and foremost. The main difference between "over the air" (free) TV and cable (not free) TV is that one has 5 channels with nothing worth watching and the other has 100 channels with nothing worth watching. I had cable, then went back to the bunny ears. Every once and a while I am somewhere that has cable. I end up doing the same thing. Flipping, finding nothing that is decent, and settling for something in the end. I don't know why I just don't stop watching TV alltogether.

OK as long as others see what I meant I am starting to agree about cable. Next time I move I might not get it but roomates use it now just give me teh intranet

^I was wondering if it was just advertising or a message the station was trying to send out. Stupid? Yes. Profitable? Yes. Considering CC has 1400+ radio stations across the country, I'd say they can get away with it.

well on cable they have ads for DirecTV all the time soooooooooo
12/9/2005 7:38:02 PM
People still listen to FM radio?
