pretty sure I saw that we're a 6.5 favorite right nowbtw, i believe USC is a 6.5 favorite over Texas. it'll change a lot though before the actual game.

For anyone who does thier homework before they make thier bets, bowl season can be one of the most profitable times of the year, especially the lower level games. Teams who have never played against one another leave the linemakers to guess how thier strengths and weaknesses will clash, and different styles of play force teams to adjust. Ther are always 3-4 bowls ever year in which the line is a touchdown or more off where it should be, when proper analysis is applied. Teams from the MAC, WAC, and conference USA are not as publicizd as the BCS schools and therefore majority of people assume they are weaker. Bowls which pit good mid-major teams against a mediocre BCS opponent often provide the best lines for the bettor. Also, as a rule of thumb, bet the over on bowl games, as the month long break seems to be harder for the defenses to come out of, and shootouts materilalize more often than defensive struggles. I'll post some of my picks and leans as bowl season gets closer.

i dunno about bookies....whats up with the 5 point (i think) spread in the steelers / bears game? I would think that since the bears are on that streak, that they would be the favorite.

if you asked that in the sports betting threadim sure youd get a response.(something about the bears having abs. no offense.)
