Easy. Cheap - Gorman Crossings or call Shrader Rental Properties. Good - There is an apartment complex across from Blueridge 14. the $1.50 theater that have nice townhouse style apartments. Very good maintanance too.Nice - Wildwoods of Lake Johnson $700/2 bedroom fireplace, screened in porch, 24/7 maintanance etc. I live here and it's worth the extra money to me. Big kitchen, TONS of space, VERY VERY low utility bills. My most expensive bill was $160 for electricity keeping our apartment at 70 during that month of non stop heat this summer. Usually it's around $100. Plus we have 3 computers running all the time.

Also, most of the places around here have vacancies this time of year so you CAN and should make a deal. In fact, I would almost say that if you pay "retail" for most of the apartment places around Raleigh (especially as you get farther away from campus) then you are paying too much.I stayed at some apartments near Crabtree mall. Very nice area. The one bedrooms were listed at $650/month and I ended up only paying something like $450 a month just because I asked.

It's def a renter's market this time of year around NCSU at least. Haggle some and be ready to walk it if you don't get a reduced rate or lower deposit of something.

I have a few friends that live at Princeton Mills, I know they absoultely love it. One is in Grad School at state, I think that her roomate may be in undergrad, but its an adorable little apartment, very nice.

Driftwood manor can be pretty cheap(275 per room) sometimes and the area is really quiet, surrounded by a nice neighborhood, and has pool, tennis, vball, ect. Also, a wolfline stop beside the complex

Whatever you do, do NOT live in Kensington Park. The apartments are huge and cheap, but they are falling apart and the management there is just absolutely horrible. That place had to have been the worst experience living in an apartment that I have ever had, simply because the management was completely incompetent and very rude.

Enn, what is your price range? You can go as cheap as $200/mo or as much as $500/mo.

From the research I have done, just about anywhere you move is going to be cheaper the more people you have to live with. Thus, a NICE 3 bedroom apt would generally be cheaper than a NICE 1 bedroom apt. Of course, there are places that have teeny 1 bd places for reasonable prices, but I'd go with the multiple bedroom apts. Price for the size of rooms are usually much better on the larger apartments.
