paging baonest..yeah i need to put in a clutch in for cuz who'll be in town next week. what's my best bet as far as parts go? i need to have them by next wednesdayit's a '87 1500cc (si?) with 5-speed manual if anyone got a shop manual i could look at or a login to crxonline or crxsi.com so i can download one, that would be highly appreciated. prolly not necessary but it would be nice to have one on hand[Edited on December 6, 2005 at 3:02 PM. hmm, clutchcityonline.com has them pretty cheap, but not sure on how long it takes.if you order now, prolly get here in time. i dont have any shop manuals for a car that old. but i have one for my integra online i can send you over IM or something. it should be similar in removal/assembly.but check with optmusprimer, i think he had one or knows of someone whos had crx and maybe can hook you up.

check your pm'si was also wondering if i should go for honda genuine, autozone variety or performance aftermarket.he's not a ric0r but he does deliver pizzas part time and that takes its toll. don't want to spend too much moneys, after all it it a '87 hunk of junk, but if there is a significant difference in wear i'd rather pay extra and not have to do it next year all over again.

i got my first one from t.hoff but i skimped out and didnt resurface the flywheel and bird-nested the friction material within 6 months, second one I got from A-1 in durham- there was nothing wrong with the t.hoff one though, id go there. igor you may be able to get jobber pricing there too cause of where you work (dont you work on cars still??)

yeah they'll give me some discount, and honda is right across the street. i'll be working friday and i'll find out about the pricing for sure. but i was gonna get some opinions on genuine honda vs aftermarket and see what kind of experiences did you guys have. yeah im defenitely gonna send the flywheel to the machine shop and tomorrow i'll call t hoff see what they want for a cluch kit

Should be damn near the same as my '87 Teg...with the exception of an extra cam! I have the factory manual for it, but why do you even need it? It's a pretty straightforward job.I've done my Teg clutch oh...about 5 times, maybe more. I have put an el cheapo reman clutch in there (for less than 60 dolla), lasted about 30k.I put one in from Car Quest when I built my first engine, and grenaded it within 7k miles. Lots of burnouts and whatnot. The disc hub bought the farm.The one in there now is probably a factory clutch; I got it from a friend who sold me a transmission after I grenaded the first one (launched the spider gears through the case when the cross shaft snapped)...this one has been in there the longest.Car Quest isn't a bad place to get one now, as they have OEM equivalent. They can also get WorldPac stuff, which is usually OEM.T-Hoff usually stocks Daikin, which is a factory replacement and well worth buying.Fuck all that heavy clutch shit. You don't need it with a stock engine.
