You've got to understand that the goal has never been for the U.S. to gain a quick, decisive "victory" in Iraq and be out of the country in a short time (even though that's what the Bush Administration initially said)The goal is to have a long, drawn-out conflict. That way the ruling elite can rack up massive government debt and their companies rake in billions in arms sales. When they say "mission accomplished", that's probably code speak for the fact that their mission of having the U.S. military bogged down in Iraq for years and years is being accomplished.Remember, Cheney said we could be in Iraq for DECADES.
