I'm not sure if anyone else is hooked on this show but I love it. The guy has to survive by himself for 7 days in extreme environments around the world and he has to film the whole thing himself too. Great show. It's on the science channel on Fridays at 8:00pm, 12:00pm, and 4:00am. http://www.survivorman.ca/

12/9/2005 11:51:25 PM

12/9/2005 11:53:38 PM

12/9/2005 11:55:59 PM
it's on again now. 12:00and again at 4amhttp://www.survivorman.ca/episodes.htmlI've only seen a couple.Episode 2 - Arizona Desert - Sonoran DesertBroken down dirtbike in the middle of the desert. Very dry and hot during the day, very dry and cold during the night. Big emphasis on water here, but there's lots of good food floating around. Grasshoppers, cacti, all other types of bugs. Lots of freaky wildlife at nighttime.Episode 3 - Costa Rican JungleI only saw the last half of this one. Way too hot and humid for a crazy Canadian. Lots of walking. Lots of freaky wildlife to watch out for.Episode 8 - Plane Crash in the Canadian ForestCold as shit, snowy, but he gets great use out of his broken airplane. Too bad he "broke" his left arm. (Just a simulated injury to add some realism.) There's lots of snow for drinking, but there's very little wildlife for eating. Manages to track down 1 rabbit for his only meal of the week. Mostly just huddles up in the cockpit of the plane and waits out the cold.[Edited on December 10, 2005 at 12:08 AM. Reason : ]

I can DVR, but have no means for converting them. If you want to chip in for the $300 eyeTV hookup for my PowerBook, I'll gladly give you all the copies. OR, you could order the DVDs yourself.https://secure.advantage.com/ryekasport/order.html
12/12/2005 2:32:55 PM
^thats much better than the damn $20-$25 channels like discovery, science, and history charge PER episode via commercials.
12/12/2005 2:38:24 PM
Yeah, definitely. That's only like $25.00 US.
12/12/2005 2:46:25 PM

Saw the lost at sea episode last night. It was crazy!
12/18/2005 8:48:14 PM
This guy is a fucking hack
12/18/2005 11:34:28 PM
fucking shit, i forgot to dvr that episode
12/19/2005 1:26:28 PM
the lost at sea episode was disappointing...the friday one in the swamps of georgia looks pretty awesome though...
12/19/2005 3:53:44 PM
i finally got digital cable and dvr
12/19/2005 5:53:26 PM
I was pretty disappointed with the Lost at Sea episode. Seemed like he cheated a lot in that one. Didn't ride out the storm, talked constantly about the safety boat, left after 6 days... (not like I wouldn't have done the same, though)It was cool to hear about how far his boat drifted and stuff like that, but as for surviving on the life raft, it seemed to be merely "drink fresh water when you can, otherwise wait and wait and wait and wait..." I suppose there's not much else you can do on the raft. Can't cook, can't hunt, can't do anything except stay out of the water.
12/19/2005 6:58:32 PM
its the only one ive ever seen, does it get better?
12/19/2005 10:06:42 PM
Well, since that was the 9th or 10th episode, you'd have to say that it WAS better.
12/19/2005 10:16:02 PM
i cant think of one disappointing episodeits one of my favorite shows
12/20/2005 10:46:33 AM
Georgian Swamp episode on right now. It'll replay several times over the next day - midnight, 4am...Looks fun so far.
12/23/2005 9:07:19 PM
On in 10 minutes:
1/6/2006 9:56:50 PM
1/6/2006 10:02:37 PM
Well, while making a show, he has to stay grounded in reality. It wouldn't be much of a show anymore if he died or was otherwise permanently incapacitated. He knows what he's doing.
1/6/2006 10:59:47 PM
Seems that they are airing them on the regular Discovery Channel now.
1/11/2006 11:04:54 PM
last night's episode on the discovery channel was only 30 mins, instead of the 1hr episodes that are on the science channelHas anyone ordered the DVDs from the link above? I ordered them on Dec 27th but they haven't come in the mail yet.
1/12/2006 12:33:07 PM
yeai saw that episode last night for the first timedefinitely seemed like it should have been an hour looked to be a decent show tho
1/12/2006 12:34:49 PM
1/12/2006 12:52:44 PM
Does it bother anyone else how Les eats? I mean, I know he's stranded and trying to survive and all that....but he seems like he chomps SO loudly on purpose. He does it in every episode too. I love the show but can't stand the parts where he eats!
1/23/2006 1:56:16 PM
eh i dunnohe makes everything he eats seem like it would taste kind of good
1/23/2006 2:01:01 PM
i dont mind how he eats, if i was trying to survive i'd probably make a lot of noise eating, too
1/23/2006 2:07:18 PM
He does it to the extreme. It's rather unnessecary.
1/24/2006 11:28:19 PM
btttLes is the man.I have the season 1 DVD and I highly recommend it.
4/14/2006 5:22:39 AM
The 1 hour episodes on Science channel are so much better than the 30 min crap they show on discovery.
4/14/2006 8:48:12 AM
yea you cant compress a 7-day survival into 30 minutes!"Les survives on very little"
