Specifically, a socket 478 PIV 3.2Ghz?

Isn't there a Tiger Direct or some store like that on Hillsborough?

Tiger direct on Capital. Just inside 540. but you might have trouble finding a socket 478 chip these days in a retail shop. Intel's pushing the socket 775 hard...especially in Retail Boxed CPU's.

Probably better to just order it online.

last year I purchased a celery from intrex for only about 20% more than I could have gotten it on newegg for... I paid the premium b/c I walked out the door with the part in my hand instead of waiting 3-5days and I needed it.

of course... your old computer might still be worth something according to some people...

Tiger Direct had it. They had the exact one I needed, and it was the last one in stock (for $230 something). They had a 3.4 for $300, and a slower one too I think.

I wasn't paying for it, and the person that wanted it, wanted it now.

But, what is wrong with buying stuff from that place?
