He sure is good at filling a page with business bullshit. Definitely fitting he is going for a MBA.That "About Us" page could have been covered in a paragraph. Not only that, who the fuck creates a company to represent themselves? Interchanging between us/we and me/I is so fucking annoying. Everything about the site, and the person SCREAMS business idiocy. It's hilarious.

It meansthey use a portal with some new feature to get people in different places to connect with each other via common interests.in other words, yet another fucking specialized community portal that will fail because 1) people won't pay for community portals and 2) there aren't enough people to keep specialized portals running

Thanks for the creative commentary...granted that ""Our company uses organic online community dynamics with value-added tools that creatively link people in disparate places who share certain common interests. Marketing to community is integral to business model."sounds a bit like MBA wordy bs...Carovest is a partner in the company for whom the webwork is needed, and that company is somewhat unique in what it does (to my knowledge)... it is not a web community business model in a traditional sense...the work needed is fairly basic for someone with webmaster/website building experience...

even 12 year old kids wouldn't do web design for free unless it was for some cause

^^you obviously missed the dot com boom where idiots worked for the lure of stock options and shared equity. If it's REALLY such an innovative idea, you should have no problem securing either a VC or an Angel Investor to get off the ground the RIGHT way.And if it's such an easy / trivial thing to do, do it yourself. 99.99999% of non-retail ecommerce sites have failed, why in the world would someone play russian roulette with a kid who is just out of college with no capital, no equity and not even enough cashflow to pay a single employee? And Carovest is a ONE person outfit, it's not a damn partnership in any sense of the word, you are a consultant.

Noen, I take it your not interested…Look, I’m a bit of an optimist and a realist… I believe someone might be intrigued by the idea and would want to put their talents to use for a part of the business and some initial dollars… as a realist, I realize most people would not be interested and many would scoff at the idea…And yes, Carovest is an individual’s consulting firm (my own), but the web-based business I reference is based on the idea of a friend of mine and is incorporated in NC with a few partners, including myself, who have provided services and/or dollars. The business model has validity in my opinion … it is not a generic pure-play web community…. I don’t think it will revolutionize the marketing community, but it has the potential to make a few bucks in a creative, interesting way … even with the large number of dot.busts, there are companies who are succeeding at creating value and cashflow everyday…

Sure plenty of people will be intrigued by it.But for a single developer, you are asking for at LEAST several thousand dollars worth of free labor, and more likely tens of thousands in free labor. Being the business major you are, and trying to seek a MBA, you of ALL people should realize that no competent developer (which is, I will assume, what you are looking for) is going to risk weeks or more likely months of lost pay on the tiny chance that your idea will work. Because any competent developer either a) already has a job and is doing contract work on the side, b) has a job that forbids them from doing such work, c) has a job and their OWN pet projects or d) has a job and doesn't want to sit and being a damn code monkey again when they get home.

Seriously, you might want to expand on the "immediate payment possible" part, as you are dealing with poor college students, and we (on the whole) respond better to money than to charity. Now to contradict myself, most of my own work is done pro-bono for churches, but as dFshadow pointed out, this is more because that is my "cause" so to speak. What I'm getting at here is that money talks, and as a business major, you of all people should know that. </rant>
