Incompetent, bureaucratic idiots (like you didn't know). I bought my Mk III Supra back in September and got all the paperwork done at the Cary office near Crossroads. I turned in the old Pennsylvania title.

A couple weeks later I get this notice in the mail telling me the VIN # was wrong. I didn't do anything about it for a few weeks, but then I got around to checking everything out. It most certainly was correct. I double checked it on Carfax. So I call the number up and talk to the lady, who tells me that I need to do a pencilled tracing of the vin number from the dash board. Well there's no way to legibly get a pencil in that place without um, removing the windshield. So she tells me to just write down the VIN # again and mail the notice back.

Then two weeks later I get another notice telling me that the VIN # is not showing up in their system. I need to take it to an inspector at the Avent Ferry office before I can get a title. I didn't really bother with messing with the thing for a while, until I brought the car over there this afternoon. Then they tell me that I can only get it inspected between 8 and 10 AM. Well I have a class at 10 and then have to go to work... so now I have to get up all early and shit and wait in line for some idiot to write down the same VIN # that I have turned in twice. ARRRGH.

I suppose I could have had it worse though... it took my parents 8 months to get a title for one of their cars because of all this hassle they had with both the bank and the DMV.

good luck ever getting a title for that thing, if you already surrendered the old one, i had to go through hell and back, because the seller put the wrong zip code for his address on the title from va.

You think the fact that I sat on it somehow made the DMV less efficient and more bureaucratic?

Got it inspected this morning, and now I've got to go to the other office in Cary to reapply for a title.

Went back to the title office yesterday. The lady just took my paperwork and mailed it to some other office downtown... she definately looked like she hated her job. I felt bad for this other guy at the counter next to me, although I didn't get all the details of his problem. He had bought a car or something but for some reason he couldn't get a title or registration, and for some reason he had to go track down the old owners and get another signature. He was really pissed and stormed out.

You've got to get you chi in gear before going to the DMV. I got a license renewal in about 18 minutes at Avent Ferry last time.

I gots some strong damn chi.

WTF? How can having an NC license prohibit you from driving a certain car?
