more than half a page in the technician but a fairly dominating performance by basketball gets three paragraphs? I realize the signifigance of the football game and that it is late in the season for football and early for basketball but come on, give the guys a little more than that.

You answered your own complaint. The football win was simply more significant. And 4-1 over the last five games is hardly limping. Yes, I know about the crappy schedule. The fact remains.

The bball game didn't deserve much. We turned in a very average performance with the only notable thing being we didn't perfectly execute our patented "second half drought when having a lead" game plan like we usually do. And I think you can largely attribute that to ND being pretty inept offensively.

We are a football school
11/28/2005 10:43:28 AM
it's hard to believe you even go to this school.

post season implications > regular season wins. There are exceptions but not in this case. If and when we make the NCAA's and the bball team doesn't get big press then you can rant and rave.

I was very pleased with the N&O coverage on Sunday.Huge picture/article on the football win on the wrap-around section, and the Notre Dame win made the top of the front page of the actual sports section.

soon as football season is over, b-ball can have all the room it wants, till then, jsut have to deal
11/28/2005 12:07:16 PM
it was a good win for bball, but hardly big news. it was the 5th game of the season against an unranked opponent.
11/28/2005 12:30:49 PM
BBall will get plenty of press over the next 4 months. They can deal with this for now.
11/28/2005 12:50:12 PM
yeah I'm not ripping them for the football coverage so much as I just think there should have been more than three paragraphs
11/28/2005 2:39:10 PM
we weren't limpingit was our pimp walk.
11/28/2005 2:41:36 PM
And don't forget Technician writers have to pay their own way to road events.
11/28/2005 2:42:37 PM
Yeah, if you saw Marcus Hudson's kid after the game, you would know we didnt limp into the win. That was a fucking strut.
11/28/2005 2:46:00 PM

i haven't seen the paper and the bball write-up isn't online. technician probably didn't travel to the bball game. when it has a writer that does, it usually gets fair recognition.
11/28/2005 3:08:21 PM
Aparently, nobody traveled to the bball game judging by the five fans that were there.
11/28/2005 3:09:52 PM
yee-haw. I just felt like picking on something small for once. Heaven forbid that someone on here do that....
11/28/2005 3:18:04 PM
we played basketball last weekend!? jk..i knew we didbut a lot of people didn't know about it. When they flashed it up on the scoreboard during the football game, people were acting surprised and asking whether it was at home or at notre dame but a regular season-ending win over maryland to become bowl eligible is more worthy of paper space than an early season win over notre dame in basketball...[Edited on November 28, 2005 at 3:27 PM.
