Does anyone use or know anyone who uses animal therapy for sick patients? I need to interview anyone who has either worked in a hospital where this technique was used, had this technique used on them, or knows someone who has.

Also, anyone with K-9 companion or seeing-eye dog experience. Please help!

Exotic and Avian Care does acupuncture - they used it on my rabbit to try to help him. Or do you mean where animals are used to work with sick or elderly patients?

I meant the other way around..where animals are used to help sick patients...my grandpa was sick awhile back and they brought a dog to his room in the hospital...I would interview him but he hated the idea because the dog smelled bad..lol

Anyone know anything about the vet school? Is there a professor who lectures about using animals as therapy?

I believe that some of the Danes from "Mid Altlantic Great Dane Rescue League" http://www.magdrl.org/ Have gone to serve as therapy dogs. Drop them a line and Im sure they would put you in touch with the owners of the dogs. If not I can find out for you. I wish I could use my dog for that but hes a little too weird with strangers.

my old neighbor's dog was a therapy dog. she loved it! and I want to do it with my dogs, but I'm too poor to take them to the $80 class and actually have time to be there.
you should be able to find the program for that on-line, and if you need people to interview you can probably call a hospital or a random nursing home.
