#1 on Monday Dec. 5 @ 8am#2 on Monday Dec. 5 @ 6pm#3 on Tuesday Dec. 6 @ 8am?? I'd like to delay one of those 8am'er... does this count or am I just outside of that rule?

I dont think so.if you had one at 8am, one at 1pm, and one at 6 pm, then that would break the rule.[Edited on November 26, 2005 at 3:20 PM. Reason : .]

dependsi've gotten an exam moved due to a schedule like yours...it wont hurt to ask

I believe for it to be in the "rule" you have to have 3 consecutive exams like specter said, but yes it doesn’t hurt to ask your instructors, at least you've got three chances

Yeah, go ahead and ask. Some instructors are understanding, and will let you reschedule an exam for a later date. My PY 208 instructor last semester let me take the make-up exam at USTL, even though I was one exam period away from breaking the rule.

Doesn't count. For clairification, the rule:THREE FINAL EXAMINATIONS IN 24 HOURS No student shall be required to take three consecutively scheduled final examinations within any 24-hour period. If students find that they have three consecutively scheduled exams, they should report to the Department of Registration and Records (1000 Harris Hall) before the exams are to be given, have their schedules verified, and to obtain a form approving their request to change the date of a specific examination as designated by the student. They will take the form to the specified instructor or departmental office and arrange for a new examination date. The instructor will enter the new date on the form and sign it. The instructor and the student should both retain a copy. The student shall be responsible for returning the form to the Department of Registration and Records, 1000 Harris Hall.http://www.ncsu.edu/policies/academic_affairs/courses_undergrad/REG02.20.14.php

why not just take it and get it over with? last year i had 5 exams in 2 1/2 days (2 on monday, 2 on tuesday, and one on wednesday)
11/27/2005 2:17:11 PM
I've gotten one moved with that schedule before. I told the teacher the deal and that i wasn't totally sure if it was in the rule or not, he let me take it another day, didn't seem to care much.
11/27/2005 4:34:57 PM
I wish I could've gotten all of my exams out of the way early like that.
11/27/2005 7:24:29 PM
ONE of your 3 professors will let you reschedule i'm sure. officially you can't overrule it though.

Contact one of your three profs before the week is over - today if possible. Most profs have to plan how many exams to copy per section and how many graders to have on-hand. It causes exam or grader shortages when a lot of students ask to change without advance notice. Therefore, most profs strongly discourage requests for exam schedule switches, especially the night before the final. A prof is more open to requests if you contact them early and show that you've put some thought into how you're going to get everything done.

sometimes you can tell them you have 3 in 24 hours even if you dont, and get it moved
11/28/2005 6:44:09 PM
^^along those lines - present your situation to all three of your professors - one is likely to allow you to change
