10. Its nice not having to go to work until 1 pm
11/25/2005 8:35:18 PM
hail, it is called being a lazy ass. quit looking for an excuse.
I like to sleep 8 or 9. I usually get 6. So one night on the weekend I sleep 10-15 hours.
11/25/2005 8:47:07 PM
holy crap, 10 per day? isn't that a lot?
11/25/2005 9:05:53 PM
^ depends on the person. Some people require more; some require less.I have sleep apnea and without a machine I could sleep almost indefinitely.
11/25/2005 9:18:28 PM
i most definitely could sleep a million hours straight, but i'd wake up feeling like ass. it just seems like if you sleep more than 8 hours on average, you carry your A-game. but that's just me...thought I'd find out what everyone else thinks...
11/25/2005 9:20:51 PM
i usually wake up 6 hours after i went to sleep unless i was really beat. i usually sleep in a little extra, but i ALWAYS wake up 6 later.
11/25/2005 9:36:07 PM
so, it's not mean on my part to drag my bf's butt out of bed before 1pm i take it?
11/25/2005 9:55:12 PM
i usually get 4-5, then take a nap in the afternoon for an hour or two.[Edited on November 25, 2005 at 9:58 PM. Reason : ^on a holiday/weekend? that's heartless...gotta recover from the previous week's sleep debt]
11/25/2005 9:57:30 PM
^^ everyone is different and requires different amounts of sleep.
11/25/2005 9:58:22 PM
k, my thoughts are, if someone needs to drag you out of bed at 1pm everyday...you needs help, yo.
11/25/2005 10:18:12 PM
left to my own devices, i'd stay up every night until 4 or 5 am, then sleep until early afternoon every day. i've been on active duty in the Marines for a year and a half, and i'll still slip back into that schedule in no time if i take leave or something. i'm just hard-wired as a night person...that's why i don't sleep much at night and end up taking naps after work.
11/25/2005 10:21:22 PM
4-5
11/25/2005 10:57:56 PM
6-9 if it's a good night and no noise

People sleep depending on how much sleep they've had, and how much they usually sleep.

i think you all just train yourselves to do this crap. ive never heard of a night owl with a consistant sleep pattern and would love to see some study on it. personally ive done everything from going to bed at 6am and waking up at 1pm to normal 10-6am. just how you get used to doing it. you probably are more likely to be the night owl because of your activities or lifestyle than natural causes.

awww, he's not lazy by any means. thanks for the great relationship advice tho...i was just worried that someone who gets 14-16 hours per sleep a day and is tired still may have an illness or possible depression. maybe it's not so uncommon though.
11/26/2005 11:26:40 AM
usually i get 3-4 hours of sleep a night, ha ha habut then when exhaustion finally takes over i've slept for 22 hours once but normally only 14 or so when that happens
11/26/2005 11:37:57 AM
i'm always sleepy
11/26/2005 11:42:07 AM
hell, i'm tired right nowif i wasn't at work i'd be passed the fuck out
11/26/2005 11:48:28 AM
I need 10 hours of sleep to feel rested. I usually get 6 though

Depression can definitely cause you to sleep more. I am clinically depressed and am on medication. Before I was on my medicine, I HAD to have 11 hours of sleep or I seriously could not function. I thought I was just being lazy, so I went to the doctor and explained this problem, along with other problems, and I was diagnosed with depression due to a fluctuation in my hormone levels. Now that I have been on medication for a couple of months, I can get by with 8-9 hours of sleep. I can even get up earlier if I have to. The only problem I have is that right after I take my medicine, I have to sleep for a couple of hours...thus I take it at night before I go to bed.
11/26/2005 8:23:51 PM
I average 10
11/26/2005 8:27:15 PM
I dont need 10, but its a lot easier to get up after 10 hours than 8 for me.
11/26/2005 8:35:03 PM
7.5 if I have to wake up.10-11 if I let myself.
11/26/2005 8:47:01 PM
5-6 on average during the week. sometimes 4 or 7. 10 if its a weekend.
11/26/2005 9:04:04 PM
hmmm....very interesting! i wonder how meds and sleep relate.
