so the doors open at 5am, but the item I want only has a minimum of 2, what time should i get out there?any previous experiences at crossroads?I went at 4 last year, and the line was all the way to plato's closet
11/24/2005 1:45:03 PM
yeah you should def. get there at 12AM and wait.that's pretty much the only way you'll get to be somewhat close to the front.i went at 1am last year the the year before and was always in the top 10.this time i have no issues with calling people out for cutting/letting their friends/family walk up and get in line. really cold water balloons make a great party favor in the windy cold.[Edited on November 24, 2005 at 2:03 PM. Reason : i'm getting a cripple to come with me so that i can get in there first.]

going for the insignia hd tv are you for 399.99? friend works there...remember you get what you pay for. theres no 720p support (which sucks cause sports are better this way).
11/24/2005 2:23:22 PM
the tvs to small to not buy it because it is a 1080i crt.almost all of them areif you want 720p native, buy an LCD tv or rearprojection DLP

i have a few things i want to get at staples. doors open at 6am. what time do you think i should be there? i was thinking i'd get there like 5:30. is that too late? i've never gone to black friday sales in the past so i don't really know.
11/24/2005 4:15:29 PM
yeah 30 minutes early is definitely too late unless you live in a small town of hicks(i came back home for thanksgiving hence that idea) and nobody cares about staples
11/24/2005 4:21:04 PM
do they give you the voucher for the product you want or is it like a race who gets first in the aisle
11/24/2005 4:25:50 PM
best buy will give you tickets for the product that you want, so no one will dash to the products.
11/24/2005 4:29:20 PM
where do you get a ticket then and when?
11/24/2005 4:54:31 PM
while you're in line waiting to get in.
11/24/2005 4:55:41 PM
anyone in the greensboro/burlington area and wanna hit up some african friday sales tomorrow?i think i might hit up some places with Beowulf[Edited on November 24, 2005 at 4:56 PM. Reason : what if you want like 30 things..they give 30 tickets?]
11/24/2005 4:55:52 PM
so you just line up outside at 5am and someone is there and you tell them what youre getting and they give you a ticket and you just go pay for it?
11/24/2005 4:58:39 PM
Usually the manager of the Best Buy will walk down the line with vouchers for each product one-by-one.
11/24/2005 5:15:51 PM
naa, im not going for the tv, somethin a lil biggercan you leave after you get a voucher? get some food or something and come back?[Edited on November 24, 2005 at 5:57 PM. Reason : a;lksdjf]

what i heard is that the stuff is all going to be in the back, so people don't fight for it, and you give a voucher to someone and they get it from the back. and what i heard is that you can leave the line once you get the voucher, but don't take my word for it.
11/24/2005 7:12:50 PM
is all the stuff on-sale tomorrow posted on best buys website?
11/24/2005 7:42:36 PM
That is correct about stuff being in back. Although the back in Best Buy for electronics is the front right at least in my town.Once you get a voucher you can leave and you are guaranteed that product as long as you come back by noon when the sale ends to pick up the item. This only applies for Winston-Salem though, other Best Buys may operate differently. Also I should note that there are not vouchers for all items or even for the most desired. Most of the vouchers are for the biggest items that are simply easier to not have sitting out on the floor room. These are: TVs, door buster computers, etc.[Edited on November 24, 2005 at 7:52 PM. does anyone know if I'm gonna need to buy a HD box for this tv? I"m not sure if thats what they are referring to or something like a digital cable box.. I'm clueless.
11/24/2005 9:29:16 PM
sounds like you need a twc digital cable box.
11/24/2005 10:00:10 PM
i got the answer and i would need to buy an HD box to view HD and those can be expensive
11/24/2005 10:30:50 PM
so now I am running myself silly.. Isn't an HD box from TWC all you need for this?
11/24/2005 11:15:43 PM
yes. an hd cable box is a free exchange with TWC as long as you already have a Standard Definition digital cable box
11/24/2005 11:20:59 PM
for my dad.. when he orders digital cable, he should just tell them that he has HD and its the same price then?[/being really dumb]
11/24/2005 11:32:33 PM
yes, theyre all the same price. if you want a dvr box though, thats $6.95 extra per month vs. a regular cable box (both hd and non-hd).
