Question the war in Iraq?thats what it sounds like to me according to this apology by Rep. Schmidt http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20051123/ap_on_go_co/congresswoman_s_comments;_ylt=AmixPXwRJxM9ITSQ_a8JyVIGw_IE;_ylu=X3oDMTA3OXIzMDMzBHNlYwM3MDM-

It depends why he is suggesting we should pull out. If he is proposing "the war is lost! Cut our losses and run!" then he is being unpatriotic. If he is suggesting "The American military is so powerful it could defeat the insurgency in Iraq without ever leaving Germany! Lets show the world!" then he is simply being rediculously patriotic.

^So war = patriotic, and no war = unpatriotic? And there's a linear scale in-between?I am a strong supporter of this war and its continuation, but I hardly agree with that. It's simply a matter of whether the man believes he's doing right by his country in supporting the position he does.I don't think supporters of the war should necessarily take the standpoint that the war should go on because it's "patriotic" to do so, but rather there should be a continual discussion between the two camps about why and how it should continue.

i can advocate the dumbest fucking ideas and still be a patriot. being patriotic is loving your country.it is not contingent on anything except your own feelings towards your country.if someone says "oh only patriots can believe this or that" then they are just a partisan douche[Edited on November 23, 2005 at 9:22 PM.
