Everytime I use IM or Quicktime, they re-install themselves into my startup files so they load when I boot the computer. No matter how many times I use hijackthis or msconfig, they keep coming back. What can I use to block these from reinstalling themselves in my startup files?

how about going into the program's settings and disabling it.

Yeah just fool around with the user preferences.
