Couldn't find a recent thread, and this is barely worth posting anyway, but...

does anyone else think these plots get more and more random and stupid as the years go by?

I gave up on it for awhile when they had that retarded episode with the magical jockey land.

But I've been watching the new ones again the last couple of years, and they're just completely awful.

i mean it's better than a lot of shit thats run on non cable tv

but you can guarantee that if the new seasons were pilot episodes, the show would be canned in less than 3 episodes

That episode last night

was seriously the worst written episode i've EVER seen

its like they said

"hey, remember all those jokes that were too heavy-handed last year and the year before that?"

"yeah"

"do we still have those laying around?"

election humor is always funnier 2 years after the election

Yeah, that was the inspiration for the thread.

The only thing I found remotely funny was Quimby hijacking the plane, but I'd already seen that on the commercial.

I could've kept that half-hour of my life.

Although American Dad is still on the air and it is simply not funny.

American Dad's actually growing on me a little--I didn't like the first few episodes, but the recent ones have been better.

The whole subplot last night with Roger tricking Steve was hilarious, especially with the couple at the end.

The only one that was really good was the Karl Rove election episode.

For the most part however I have just half-watched the show while I am doing other things.

As for The Simpsons, I am glad the show is still on the air. I still enjoy the new episodes although they are not as great as they used to be. There are just so many shows on TV that are fucking awful at least the Simpsons has had a good run and can still have a really funny episode now and then. I do wish they would get back to the way they were a few years ago when they were in their prime though.

Stopped watching new Simpsons episodes the season before last. From what everyone is saying it looks like I'm not missing much.
