I am trying to transfer pics from my phone to my PC using the instructions I found here:

I installed BitPim.

I did View -> View filesystem
Clicked on the "Filesystem" tab
Clicked on the "-+-/"
Got this error message:
"Failed to auto-detect the port to use. I couldn't detect any candidate ports."

Please help!

did you install the drivers for the cable?

Try manually setting the COM port and see if that helps. Also, try another usb port and see if it detects it

you have to install a certain drivier, something 'prolific' USB driver. It's the only one that works, you use the datacable and have it on that port.

Cocerning that data settings on the phone, I didnt even have to change them.
