so what's my best options in all this? should i try pleading not guilty and use my perfect driving record for 5 years previous to this ticket to try and get it dismissed? or should i just plead guilty and use the PFJ?

11/17/2005 10:58:26 PM

11/17/2005 10:59:10 PM
40 in a 25. it was on crossroads blvd by the movie theatre.no lawyer..didnt want to spend more for a lawyer than the ticket and court costs.[Edited on November 17, 2005 at 10:59 PM. Reason : .]

ummmget the ticket continuedand get a lawyerit is worth it in the long run
11/17/2005 11:02:25 PM
well thats only 15 over, so its not too bad. My first ticket was for 16 over and the bailiff dropped it to only 9 over, so I pleaded guilty, since 9 over doesnt really do anything. PJC is precious and would be carefull when you use it. I finally had to use mine after like 6 tickets, expecially since I had my last two in the same month. Also, I had gotten a lawyer since I had both of those tickets together and he got one dropped, but used PJC on the other. So, it was kinda a waste for me, but only like $300 for the lawyer to go in and take care of both of them while i sat on my ass. (also that included the court cost since I didnt have to pay that cuz my lawyer went in)[Edited on November 17, 2005 at 11:05 PM. Reason : .]

so if it gets reduced to 9 over, do i have to use the PFJ/PJC or do i only use that if there is no reduction?
11/17/2005 11:05:09 PM
I would only use it if it doesnt get reduced cuz then it will affect your insurance. I dont believe that 9 over does anything to insurance.
11/17/2005 11:06:56 PM
yea some people have told me that when they went and had it reduced to 9 over, there were no points to license or insurance. and what r the chances it gets dismissed? lol. if the cop doesnt show up is that an automatic dismissal? i'm not familiar with the laws down here, i only know NJ stuff.
11/17/2005 11:08:43 PM
get it reduced to 9 over, then u plead guiltydon't use ur PFJ...this won't affect ur insurance and use ur PFJ on your next ticket...if you use it on this one and then get another one in 3 years, it brings back the other one and u're fucked...use it on the 2nd ticket if u can get it reduced

you guys dont know shit about PJCs
11/18/2005 12:54:33 AM
actually jackleg I do know about PJC's. I have used my and talked with my lawyer about them. I have had many tickets and know pretty well about how this works. DoucheBag does not however, because his statement is incorrect, but why dont you enlighten us with your knowledge Jackleg if your the smart lawyer guy.
11/18/2005 1:00:43 AM
just dont gowho cares about a stupid traffic ticket
11/18/2005 1:03:49 AM
in my opinion (which is worth shit ) you should get a continuance (sp?) and get a lawyer. It will cost more but it makes a better outcome for you more likely. I dont want to roll the dice on something that could raise my insurance. lawyer costs < jacked Insurance

The first ticket does not really "come back". It only comes back if you try to use your PJC in that 3 year time. I just went through all of this with my lawyer a few months back.

here's my story:I was on a motorcycle on capital blvd near Wade ave. i was being tailgated by the car behind me and there were brakelights all in front of me. being as i didn't want to be in that situation with no doors or airbage, i quickly darted into the other lane to avoid trouble. at the next stoplight, a cop zoomed in fron of me and blocked me in. made me pull over, patted me down, etc. proceeded to curse and scream at me. said he was gonna burn me for careless and wreckless. however, he didn't have crap on me. i explained to him that i was trying to keep the rubber side of my bike on the the pavement and me off. he didn't write me for speeding or anything. the ticket says "failing to ascertain that a lane change could be made safely." I did look, and didn't do anything wrong. Should i use a PJC? fight it?? any advice?

Any halfway decent lawyer would get that dropped in a heartbeat. It sucks to blow 300 bucks, but it is worth it when you hear the not-guilty verdict. Just make sure the lawyer you hire knows you don't want to cut a deal and that he is willing to take the case to win.Errybody says James Crouch is the man. I've never used him, but if enough people say it is so, then there is probably a reason for it.

I got a ticket for taking a right on red from Western to Avent Ferry (RCC 11-2105)Anyone know if this results in points?
12/1/2005 5:20:58 PM
I ran a stop sign on campus and used my prayer for judgement three and a half years agonothing on record now and no points
12/1/2005 5:25:29 PM
Well, I'm trying to decide if I should use my PFJ.If it doesn't result in points, I'm not gonna bother.I've heard that since it was written up as a violation of the Raleigh City Code, it may not result in points, but I think that might be wishful thanking.[Edited on December 1, 2005 at 5:43 PM. Plead guilty to a lesser chargethey drop it to 9 over, they get your court fee and you don't get points on your license
