If you are lazy why even do it in the first place. It's a tool box who cares if it is shiney.

a two part polish is the best, and easiest way to restore the shine on ANYTHING bare aluminum thats polished like that. found online or at truck stops. it would take hours and hours with something like mothers, because it has to clean through all the bonded dirt and oxidized metal before beginning to do any polishing. google has more info.

THERE IS ONLY ONE polish that makes a truck box look new, PAY ATTENTION:its called diamond-bright (i think...) and its sold at both northern and at lowes by where they sell the tool boxes, its two parts... a clear and a white precipitate. shake it up and use either your hands and a cloth or a buffer (much faster).

The new mothers polishing ball works great on aluminum.

DIAMOND BRIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GET THAT SHIT AT LOWES, IT WORKS HARDER THAN A MEXICAN FOR A BURRITTO. YOU DONT HAVE TO DO SHIT BUT WIPE IT ON AND WIPE IT OFF

if you want to clean it up but don't really care if it looks "like new", then go to NAPA and get you some Alumi-Brite. all you do is spray it on and wash it off. shit works good as hell although it won't make it look brand new. if you do want it to look brand new, buy that shit from lowes. use a piece of indoor/outdoor carpet to apply it (makes it easy as hell to get between the diamond tread) and a towel to take it off.
