I used the counseling center when I was a freshman (which is over 5 years ago now so I may be too out of date) because of panic attacks. I went about once a month for 6 months till I found someone off campus to go to because the coundeling center said they wernt for "longterm" problems. I found them helpful for the time that I went.

I dont know what else you want to know so let me know if you want anything else.

I agree totally with finding somebody to see off-campus. The counseling center can be of some help, but I think for long-term cases, you definitely need to look off campus.

I'd find someone off campus. those fuckers are more likely to turn you in if you tell them about illegal stuff. you know, stuff you've just got to get off your chest.

I think the counseling center is good and I also know some very good counselors off campus. PM for more information if you like.

I found the lady I talked to very helpful, but also not very reliable. She was a great listener. However, when I went to her about withdrawing on hardship, she was all ears and totally agreed with me (my dad was dying). She explained she would handle everything and all I had to do was pack my shit and be out of my dorm by the end of the week. I did this and come to find out, she had went on vacation and totally forgot about me. She failed to notify ANYONE about my withdrawal, so I got penalized for a late withdrawal for the following semester and had to pay several hundred dollars.
