I have a Ti-83+ calculator that has gone bad. Its battery life quickly dropped to about a few mins.Problem started about a month ago, when I got like 30 days battery life. I replaced the batteries (good ones) and then got about a week. Then replaced them again, and it died in less than a few minutes. How the hell is it possible for something to suck up 4 full good batteries in a couple of minutes????I dont play/have any games. I dont have any other apps. Can any one fix it? How much?

QUESTIONS:- does the calculator get hot? - do the batteries get hot? - did you drop it? - did it get wet?- is it still wet?- how old is it?POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS:- the problem is likelly a short circuit somewhere in the calculator draining your batteries- could be a manufacturing flaw, return it for a replacement- stop playing games- don't do as much homework- bang it on something (throw it at a whall or something), seriously something could be physically causing the short and jostling the device could dis-lodge what ever is causing the short.[Edited on November 19, 2005 at 3:56 PM. The calculator getting wet definately kills the battery life - I have to change my batteries like once a month these days after getting caught on campus in a rainstorm one day.
