^ when you got some 40000 nodes to manage.. it takes some time to find the problem.. UNC has a much smaller network to managefrom the looks of all the cases.. it looks like a routing table issue, ARP cache, spanning tree misconfiguration (if we have that kind of infrastructure), maybe an unauthorized box found its way onto the network without going behind a firewall first, probably spread a worm.. who knows..
