i've had suncom for the past 2 years and my contract finally runs out next month. what are good cell phone providers. I need the typical; good coverage, good phones, cheap plans.BTW...i have had suncom and they are nazis. they are always out to screw u over and do it all the time if u dont catch them on it. i remember one time they charged me 80 bucks in roaming cause they said i called from texas. I made a 2 min phone call from goldsboro, nc at like 8:30pm on one day. At 8:35pm the very same day, just 5 min later, they said made a 40 min phone call from texas...yea, they tired to screw me.[Edited on November 11, 2005 at 11:46 AM. Reason : .]

cingular is alrighti renewed my contract with them for the second timei travel a lot so roaming and long distance charges would rape me, which is why i stuck with them
11/11/2005 11:59:27 AM
the only way nextel is decent is if you know a bunch of people with them and will use direct connect a lotand you dont mind outdated phones

My nextel bill is ALWAYS the same. With verizon I was constantly billed incorrectly. I have 1000 anytime CELLULAR minutes, unlimited nights and weekends, unlimited direct connect and a $10 internet/messaging/insurance package. My bill is always $74.00. If you want consistency and customer service that's actually worth a damn (CORRECTION: pending the full merger over this next year w/ Sprint) then go with Nextel. PS - My parents had verizon and alltel and our entire family is now on Nextel because the plans are so much more consistent.

i would love to get nextel since that is what everyone uses at my jobbut i would only get it if everyone i knew had it so i could take advantage of the direct connect
11/12/2005 2:59:06 PM
free incoming is good for ppl who don't have a lot of direct connect users they'd be in contact with.you call them. hang up. they call you back and talk for hours. you've used 10 seconds :-)

altell sucks....my girlfriend and her dad's company had them and they billed them wrong; they added over 800 bucks in charges that they couldnt tell them what for; they took them to court and got like 3 months for free then left. im thinkin i might go with nextel
11/13/2005 9:20:45 PM
nextel is great if you have the direct Connect...otherwise its shit..and makes you look likea fucking hill billy I should know..I have one.
11/13/2005 10:12:10 PM

i had t-mobile for a couple years, but just recently gave up my cellphone for awhile. their package with 600 anytime minutes and unlimited nights and weekends for $50 was pretty much that best deal I saw out there. too bad they're not based in NC.
11/14/2005 1:26:39 AM
yea well u got ripped off with t-mobile. even though i hate suncom...they have good plans. i have 1000 anytime min. and unlimited night and weekends for 42 a month.

you can take over my nextel plan. i have a POS alltel that i got with my new job so i'm getting rib of the nextel since i don't have to pay a cell phone bill anymore. my plan ends August 15, 2007 and right now i have the Sprint Free Incoming 300 and my monthly bill runs about $50 plus whatever Direct Connect minutes you use outside of your call area. this typically runs me an extra $10. it also comes with unlimited night/weekend and nextel service plan. plus i'll give you my old i730 phone which i never had problems with unless you want to buy my i850 which someone offered me $100 for it. in order to take over a plan nextel runs a credit check and if you had bad credit they make you give them an upfront deposist which they didn't tell me how much and then you just pay the $35 activation fee which is on your first bill. i've never had problems with nextel and loved it, but i can save a lot of money not having to pay a phone bill.

Verizon are the most unhelpful people on the planet.
11/16/2005 3:04:35 PM
alltel is okay
11/16/2005 3:06:54 PM
I feel your pain.... 6 months of suncom was enough for me, 2 $100+ monthly bills with no explanation.... I told the Nazis to fuck off... So I went verizon last week, they're pretty good, and have a lot better options.

I think it's just a given to hate your cell phone company. We've got cingular - service is OK, lotsa rollover minutes, etc, but they keep on screwing my voicemail up. I've called them over 20 times in the last 6 months over this. They've credited me a month's worth of service but won't do anything else anymore.Actually they did offer me free minutes but we've got some stupid amount of minutes already squirreled away. All I want is to not have to call those fuckers every 5 weeks about the same problems.
