Certainly the best coach ever at NC State...shoulda had him longer

just to name a few
Philip Rivers
Carson Palmer
Matt "heisman" LionHeart

simply the best QB coach ever no doubt about that...possibly the best OC ever as well

agree? and please feel free to add more names to the list

every program he has been 2 he has touched and turned completely around and into a nationally known program. IMO, hes the best.

You mean best "assistant coach" ever?

I would say Sheridan was great... definetely the best Head Coach.

Lou Holtz kinda tarnished his image with the S.C. debacle, but he was good too

I really hope the "Lionhart" part was a joke...

and yes, Chow is good, really good, but there are a LOT more really good coaches out there. I would in no way call him the best ever. I am not saying there is someone better, but its just too hard to rank shit like that over different eras.

On Around the Horn today, Jay Mariotti referred to Norm Chow as Norm Chad. It was great fun when he was called out for his mistake

Yea, Tennessee is really sucking it up but it was a good step for him. If hes ever going to be a head coach he needs the NFL experience. I sure as hell hope hes not going back to the college ranks to work for University of Tennesee as their OC.

^ Exactly.

When he returns to college ball, it will be as a head coach.

Hell, I'm surprised he didn't take a head coaching job right out of USC, instead of going to the Titans.

The guy has an incredible resume so far.

^Maybe because he was looked over for numerous positions. Most namely the Stanford job.

I have no doubt he's been passed over for some good jobs (this is a case where I buy the race card)

but he has said in interviews that he's received offers for head coaching jobs and turned them down.

isn't he hawaiian?

it's funny/sad that hawaiian is an unacceptable 'race' for coaching football . . .

"If the media blitz won't rattle Chow, how come he has interviewed for three Division I-A head-coaching jobs in the past four decades, or one more than Urban Meyer did in November alone?

Granted, Meyer comes to Florida after running two college programs — Bowling Green and Utah, the latter the alma mater of Chow, who was an offensive lineman for the Utes. Chow, however, has been an integral part of two national championship squads (BYU in 1984 and USC in 2003). He has supervised three Heisman Trophy winners — Ty Detmer, Carson Palmer and Leinart."

Okay, so "some" interviews meant "three," including one at a shitty football school (UK) where his skills would basically be wasted on a lack of talent.
