I am listening to my Shure E2c's right now, they're excellent and quite comfortable with the foam earpieces that come with themhttp://www.shurestore.com/earphones/index.html[Edited on November 10, 2005 at 2:00 PM. Reason : forgot link]

sennheiser mx500's, can be found for around 25 bucks at places like the nscu bookstore. or the sony Fontopia® Headphones MDR-EX51LP, list at around 40, but usually can find them a little less, they carry them at the bookstore, bestbuy, pretty much everywhere.

yeah, they're definately the ones to get if you've found normal earbuds a little bit uncomfortable. they have a couple different sized rubberized covers instead of those crappy foam covers and they do sound amazingly good for earbuds. I'm a sennheiser fan though, and the sennheiser's sound just as good for about 10-15 bucks less, but they're not nearly comfortable.both the sonys and the sennheisers come in black and white, and the sonys come in a few other colors too. most places only carry the black and white, but you can order any color you want direct from sony.

I love my Shure E3c's. They just came out with some E4's, but they're a little pricey

Koss KSC-75 x2They easily one of the best headphones under $100. They have great bass and impact, but they still have very clear highs. They are just awesome for the price you pay for them. They are clip-on headphones though, but once you hear them, you will fall in love with them. If you are really dead set on earbud then you should probably try to find the Sony EX-71. They do not sound as good as the Koss though. They have very boomy one-note bass and almost no hghs.
