(And that's without the recent Gartrell commitment. Apparently, this guy committed yesterday or last night and is going to ink today with the Pack......? ) [Edited on November 9, 2005 at 7:38 AM. On a related note:2007 #6 SG Austin Freeman - ***** (5 stars) is to announce between Georgetown and NC State today. He will announce for Georgetown, unfortunately, to be closer to home (He's from right outside DC)

I didn't think that name sounded familiar.Damnit, you had my hopes up that we were getting another guard this year.
11/9/2005 8:07:03 AM
Seeing that it was a 5'9" shooting guard...it is hard to get too excited.
11/9/2005 8:12:26 AM
http://www.newsobserver.com/122/story/362992.htmlDavis ranked #79, Horner ranked #84.[Edited on November 9, 2005 at 8:22 AM. Reason : out of the top 100, not by position]
11/9/2005 8:19:15 AM
Ahaha...I just figured out it was a girl I'll never log on again... I promise P.S. I just seriouslly noobed all over myself. And the bad part is taht this thread will get like 1000 views because everyone is gonna wonder who that fourth person is.... hahahahaha[Edited on November 9, 2005 at 8:25 AM. Reason : sdfs]
11/9/2005 8:20:54 AM
Since when did Packpride start keeping up with women's basketball anyways? I knew I'd never heard this name before..haha... I cannot believe I just did that
11/9/2005 8:34:36 AM
At least you went and put it in both threads.
11/9/2005 8:36:52 AM
11/9/2005 8:37:21 AM
That dude's gonna play well for Herb ^^ Yeah, no shit. I saw the new article up this morning and was like "Who is this guy and how come I've never heard of him?". I figured I'd include him (her) anyways...even though I had no idea who he (she) was. There was no picture posted I'm logging out and never coming back. Noob incident of the year [Edited on November 9, 2005 at 8:39 AM. Reason : aha]
11/9/2005 8:37:41 AM
*yawn*another solid recruiting class for Herb...here's hoping they're smart enough to catch on quickly and be useful as freshmen
11/9/2005 9:09:54 AM
Yeah, man. Consistency is so boring! It's about time for Herb to get a shitty recruiting class. I'm tired of this!
11/9/2005 9:18:57 AM
^^I'll be happy if they just stick around to develop experience.Although I do hope Davis comes in ready to contribute, because we'll need some help at guard next year.
11/9/2005 9:21:19 AM
11/9/2005 9:28:24 AM
but w/out that freeman guy, we have no PG's next year
11/9/2005 9:39:32 AM
Once again, we don't use a PG. We use swing guards. We'll have two guards in Atsur and Fells, plus Grant can play some of that. So yes, we'll need Davis to contribute minutes, but not as a starter.
11/9/2005 9:43:15 AM
atsur can run the point, and larry davis will play pg after atsur is gone.
11/9/2005 9:43:59 AM
Atsur at PG LAWLS.
11/9/2005 9:50:40 AM
Don't count on Brackman next year.
11/9/2005 9:51:26 AM
I'm not as sure about him leaving as I was a year ago.I expect he's going to get some attention this year, and may potentially have an NBA career after all.
11/9/2005 9:52:35 AM
Maybe we can get this guy for 2007 but Duke is goin for him too, he does have high interest however...http://scout.scout.com/a.z?s=178&p=8&c=1&nid=1573138
11/9/2005 9:57:58 AM
If you look at the bottom, Duke hasn't offered him a scholarship yet.
11/9/2005 10:04:41 AM
What's the deal with that JaJuan Jones kid?
11/9/2005 11:45:49 AM
11/9/2005 12:05:49 PM
Looks like all 3 of them have 3 point range as well. I like how we get guys that are both inside and outside. We are slowly developing into a really good team.
11/9/2005 12:17:28 PM
UpdateI may have jumped the gun on that Freeman thing. I'm not seeing where anyone is predicting NC State.... I've heard mostly Georgetown, but some folks that said Georgetown earlier are now hearing it may be Maryland....?I thought it had been confirmed about Georgetown, but I accidentally reported it on rumorAnywho.... from everything I hear he loves NC State but it's too far, he's probably going to Georgetown, but there's a slight chance Maryland has climbed back in it. He announces at 2:00 today
11/9/2005 12:48:55 PM
wtf kidthe only thing between DC and NC is the rest of Virginia
11/9/2005 12:58:18 PM
please be a huge suprise.
11/9/2005 1:00:00 PM
I've heard Georgetown as well. Mom wants him close to home. Although she came down here with him and liked it.I think John Thompson III is a good recruiter and should bring Georgetown back to respectability. And Gary Williams just sucks at recruiting. The Hoyas can field a good team if they recruit the D.C/Maryland/Virgina area well.
11/9/2005 2:16:13 PM
^is he a racist too?
11/9/2005 2:21:50 PM
so where did he sign?
11/9/2005 3:07:34 PM
he isn't signing anywhere for a year. he's a 2007 recruit. he's announcing today. he should have announced a couple minutes ago. I haven't heard who he chose yet tho
11/9/2005 3:09:39 PM
The PackPride boards are saying it's now official that Freeman's going to G-town.No idea if it's true, though.
11/9/2005 3:35:27 PM
This looks like a pretty mediocre class, and again without a point guard. We're really stockpiling those swing men.
11/9/2005 3:47:18 PM
I've heard rumors that Davis plays well at the point and makes a great swing guard, and Horner and Werner are supposed to be perfect fits for our style.Considering that, and that the class is ranked #24, I don't think this is "mediocre" at all. There's also the fact that our recruiting probably suffered because the coaches had to concentrate so much on keeping the team going last year when everything was going wrong.
11/9/2005 3:51:05 PM
This is a "solid" class.I've seen video on Davis and Werner. Davis is really good and I was really surprised by Werner...he looked like a slimmer/quicker Evtimov. Davis is better than Sosa, who everyone was drooling over earlier this year. This class didn't need to be great. I'm not saying it could have been better, but no reason to be dissappointed with it. 2007 is a huge class. We need to get some big time players.
11/9/2005 4:02:23 PM
Every class needs to be great to maintain a top-tier program. I truly believe the Mejia/Flatt/Simons class killed us. Not only did they all suck, but they all transferred as well. That really hurt our depth... we wouldn't have had to play Brackman, Simmons, etc last year if we'd had some decent guys come in (They played well, but you still shouldn't have many freshmen playing)
11/9/2005 6:33:46 PM
FRODONNELL
11/9/2005 6:37:12 PM
He's another one that sucked and transferred
11/9/2005 6:40:03 PM
11/9/2005 7:29:50 PM
11/10/2005 2:16:04 AM
Bennerman was in that classWe almost signed Gilchrist. Some say we backed off after he was a douche on his recruiting trip, others say he backed off because our offense sucks.
11/10/2005 2:18:13 AM
He was a douche, Maryland sadly will probably be better without him. Sterling Ledbetter is just as good as he was minus the ACC tourney he had two years ago.
