If Bush ran for president he'd win every single election hands down. That's why I have nominated him for president of Jupiter, it's a bigger planet and I think he's ready for bigger things

He's got all you hard-core "conservatives" fooled. Bush is the liberal. Just take a second to think about it instead of just assuming he's a conservative like he says.

1. He does absolutely nothing to stop illegal immigration (even after 9/11). The past 5 years have seen a DRAMATIC rise in the level of illegal immigration (perhaps the greatest flood in the nation's history). He even called the Minutemen "vigilantes" (I bet you forgot about that).

2. The national debt skyrockets up 3 Trillion dollars (from 4 to 7 Trillon total) in 5 years under Bush. So much for fiscal conservatism.

3. The government increases in size and power under Bush more than almost other Administration in History (eg, Department of Homeland Security created, etc.). So much for pushing for smaller and less powerful government.

4. Under Bush, the repressive Patriot Act I and II are passed, allowing secret warantless searches and increased ability of the government to spy on Americans. So much for being in favor of individual liberty and the Bill of Rights.

5. Bush nominates 2 people for the supreme court who are "liberal" on social issues....Roberts being in favor of gun control...and Alito having voted in favor of "abortion rights" in 3 of 4 cases. And that's just what we know right now. So much for nominating true conservatives to the bench.

6. Bush allows homosexual prostitute "Jeff Gannon" access to the White House, and even sets him up as a phony journalist.

7. Lies and intentionally deceives the American public on the WMD threat of Iraq to go to war.

Use your brain "conservatives". If a democrat had left the borders WIDE OPEN after 9/11, jacked the national debt up 3 Trillion dollars, passed legislation killing the 4th Amendment and increasing government spying on Americans, nominated pro-gun control and pro-abortion justices, had homosexual prostitutes running around the White House and posing as journalists, and intentionally lied to start a war, wouldn't you be decrying how "liberal" and wrong those decisions were?

1.) prove it, there has been a dramatic rise of illegal immigrants in every administration, and im sure you are aware that he does allocate quite significant funds to border patrol, regardless of the state in control

2.) we all know thats his fault, fiscal conservatism? not hardly responsible

3.)
Quote :

please list the "ect..."

increase in size, maybe (you got any proof to back that up? or any of your previous statements?), but power no .. explain how PRESIDENT BUSH'S power has increased ... he was able to nominate justices? .. not quite an FDR new deal

4.) Patriot Act is not Big Brother, it was a congressional act in response to 9/11 .. and so far its worked ... "secret warrantles searches"?

If you could, show me when that happened. oh yea, they were 'secret' ... this has tom clancy written all over it

5.) shut up, just shut up .. im sure you would be more happy if it was the other way around .. it would give you more to bitch about (damned if you do, damned if you dont)

6.) shut up, just shut up

7.) tyrant in power, mass killings, connections to terrorists, refusing UN weapons inspectors across iraq, OH MY GOD GEORGE, YOURE OUT OF YOUR MIND!

Bush and the rest of the Republicans (save a few, Ron Paul comes to mind) are failures and so are the Democrats. The only conservative thing he has done has been to institute tax cuts. If he and the rest of the Republicans were a true conservatives then they would have abolished (or cut funds serverly) to Medicare/Medicaid, SS, and every other welfare program out there. Instead all he has done is pandered to corporations and instituted acts which will turn the US into a survillence police state. Everyone keeps talking about the PAtriot Act when there is something even worse on the horizon: The Real ID Act. Noone says anything about this, yet IMO this is the worse piece of fascist legislation out of all of them. Below is an article about it.

Quote :
"Many commentators predict that radio frequency identification (RFID) tags will be placed in our licenses. (Other alternatives include a magnetic strip or enhanced bar code). In the past, the Department of Homeland Security has indicated it likes the concept of RFID chips.

RFID tags emit radio frequency signals. Significantly, those signals would allow the government to track the movement of our cards and us."

Read that carefully folks. The government will know where you are AT ALL TIMES! Some scary shit. And what's worse, the Feds are forcing the states to foot the bill for this bulls**t. Identity theft will go up because the licenses will be stored in a national database, so there will only be one target. Thats not all.

Quote :
"This provision will instead give the secretary of homeland security unprecedented power to waive any and all law, environmental or otherwise, anywhere in the vicinity of the borders, in order to expedite construction of fences and barriers and remove obstacles to the detection of illegal immigration."

That's just great. Fucking great. The Dept of Homeland Security now has the power to waive ANY law. But you can't take it court right? WRONG!

Quote :
"A part of the measure stripping the courts of any power to hear cases arising from the decisions to waive law still denies access to the courts but was revised to permit court review of constitutional claims."

The only way it can get court review is if the claim has to do with Constitutional law. What does everyone think of our new and improved, uber secure US of A? Isn't it grand?

"Under Bush, Rich Get Richer While Outlook for Poor and Middle Class Grows Bleaker
The Associated Press reports that the total net worth of America's richest people rose 10 percent to $955 billion this year from 2002, according to Forbes magazine's annual ranking of the nation's 400 wealthiest individuals. Unfortunately, things are not going nearly as well for the rest of the country, according to two recently released Census Bureau reports. These reports show that median household income declined 1.1 percent in real terms from the 2001 figure to $42,409. Furthermore, the number of people in the U.S. living in poverty has risen for the second year in a row to 34.6 million, an increase of nearly 3 million people since 2000. The proportion of Americans living in poverty increased to 12.1 percent in 2002 from 11.7 percent in 2001—an additional 1.7 million people in poverty.

"Bush Administration Fails to Jumpstart Economy
As of May, 2005, there have been 893,000 jobs created over the first 52 months of the Bush presidency - a gain that is due solely to the 917,000 jobs created in the government sector that offset the 24,000 jobs lost in the private sector. Since the Great Depression, no other president who served at least 52 months has overseen a net loss in private sector jobs through this point. In addition to lack of job growth, real weekly and hourly wages have declined since the start of the recession. At a time when middle-class Americans are experiencing stagnant wages and vanishing benefits, CEO pay continues to rise.

"Bush Budget Slashes Education, Veterans' Health Care, Law Enforcement, and Environmental Protections
The Bush administration's budget for the 2006 fiscal year will cut non-defense discretionary spending, including education, veteran's health care, law enforcement, and environmental protections. In all, President Bush's fiscal 2006 budget plan calls for elimination of or drastic cuts from 154 programs. Funding for the Iraq war, however, was recently increased. A House subcommittee approved an initial $45 billion for military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan next year, two weeks after Congress approved $82 billion for this year's costs of the conflicts. Although President Bush argues that it is too early to request money for the wars during the 2006 budget year, which starts Oct. 1, with no timetable for withdrawing U.S. troops from Iraq and Afghanistan, war costs are certain and many lawmakers are reluctant to wait for his request.

"Bush Stalls on Darfur Genocide
Nine months after the Bush administration first declared that ongoing violence in Darfur constituted ''genocide,'' 80 prominent national organizations and leadership figures representing millions of Americans urged the President to do more to protect innocent civilians in Sudan's western Darfur region. The Bush administration, which over the past year took the lead in approving several Security Council resolutions deploring the violence and authorizing the African Union mission, has appeared much less aggressive in recent months. Since conflict erupted in Sudan in February 2003, Amnesty International estimates that more than 70,000 people are believed to have lost their lives. Over 1.5 million civilians have been internally displaced by the conflict and 200,000 have sought refuge in neighboring Chad. Tens of thousands of women have been displaced, raped and killed since the violence began.

"Bush Slashes Veterans' Health Care
The Bush administration acknowledged that it is short $1 billion for covering current needs at the Department of Veterans Affairs this year. The Bush administration and House Republicans have been the main focus of anger among veterans organizations. They violate the basic military value of "an army of one, teamwork, taking care of each other," he said.

"Bush Borrowed More Than All Previous Presidents Combined, Group Says

By Melanie Hunter

November 04, 2005

(CNSNews.com) - President Bush and the current administration have borrowed more money from foreign governments and banks than the previous 42 presidents combined, a group of conservative to moderate Democrats said Friday.

Blue Dog Coalition, which describes itself as a group "focused on fiscal responsibility," called the administration's borrowing practices "astounding."

According to the Treasury Department, from 1776-2000, the first 224 years of U.S. history, 42 U.S. presidents borrowed a combined $1.01 trillion from foreign governments and financial institutions, but in the past four years alone, the Bush administration borrowed $1.05 trillion.

Bush lets homosexual prostitutes come over to the White House, and he gets the government in debt more than all previous presidents combined. And he leaves the border WIDE OPEN, even after 9/11. And he nominates pro-abortion and pro-gun control judges to the Supreme Court.

He's a conservative. Why? Because he says so. Just ignore what he does.

well, nixon was better. im not just saying this to say bush was bad. id say he was better than both bushes, scandal aside.

1. opened up relations w/ China
2. started the EPA
3. and he had a (somewhat vague) plan to get out of 'Nam

So yeah, Nixon is definately better. i bet todays republican party will try to argue otherwise and save face for teh Busher.

the only things you can fault president bush on are any direct appointments he may have made or had a huge hand in, such as choosing cheney for vp, getting karl rove as advisor and scooter libby, and people of that nature. as for any of the major policies, thank the republican controlled congress for that, which as we all know, were elected by the people. the blame goes a bit further after that, to the voters. blame the people who let attack ads and churches decide what they believe in rather than the simple concept of becoming informed and intelligent.

WASHINGTON (AP) - Most Americans say they aren't impressed by the ethics and honesty of the Bush administration, already under scrutiny for its justifications for an unpopular war in Iraq and its role in the leak of a covert CIA officer's identity.

Almost six in 10 _ 57 percent _ said they do not think the Bush administration has high ethical standards and the same portion says President Bush is not honest, an AP-Ipsos poll found.
