he was backing up to get a space. i couldn't honk fast enough.i was driving a '94 Acura Legend. the other guy was in a four-door silver focus. i was rushed on the scene and only copied down his information. i haven't been in a wreck with another car before. apparently, the cops should always be present to fill out an accident report and estimate the damage. i didn't even think to call the cops because i didn't have a cell phone on me.neither car was damaged at all. his wasn't even scratched and mine was the same. little bump...that was it.i know for a fact that a number of people actually saw the wreck happen. it was sometime around 7.30pm right over the free expression tunnel. if you saw anything, please PM me your name and what you saw. it would really help me out a great deal.thanks.

it sounds like it was his fault anyway. if you don't care about it, then he shouldn't either. forget about it.

just to give some more specifics:we were both in the driving lane on yarborough. he wasn't pulling out of a space or anything. he saw that someone was pulling out of a space to his left, so he stopped, and then began to back up so he could grab it. i was stopped about 2-3 feet behind him. he stopped and pulled forward as soon as he bumped me.

if there is no damage, why continue with the details?

my parents had something like this happen; seemed to be no damage but the other guy's insurance company cut them a check for $500 (this was in 1992). The only reason my parents pursued it was that the offender didn't even bother to stop, so they followed him to work

If it's just a light bump don't worry about it. That's what bumpers are for. If he hit you hard enough that you think there might be damage open your hood and look. It should be pretty obvious. Otherwise don't worry about it. But for any accident... to cover your ass, call a cop. They only need to write an incident report. You don't have to contact your insurance over it. But in case some damage was done that you don't know about... you're covered.

it's worth mentioning that if the accident caused less taht $1500 in damage and there were no injuries and both parties agree, there is no requirement go call the police.

why is this thread here if there was no damages? you want to give the guy a hug to patch things up? Note for future reference if there are no damages present you do not need to call the cops, nor your insurance company......but hey actually feel free to call your insurance company they might jack up your rates just for fun and please leave the cops alone to handle actual crimes and accidents.
