Is there any kind of shoe recycling place I can take my old sneakers?

its called a trash can. They can be found in your apt or just open a window and "place" the sneakers in it.

Nike I beleive uses old tennis shoes to make track feilds... there used to be one on COT but its been 2 years since Ive been there.

Ive also heard of sports stores, like Oshmans, trading old tennis shoes when you purchase a new pair for a discount...

There actually is a used shoe store in Raleigh. It came up the other day in conversation but couldn't tell you the name or where it is at. Calll some consignment shop or Goodwill and I'm sure they would know.

didn't an on-campus group collect used tennis shoes a year or two back?

What about shoes that have been beat to hell. Are they good for anything?

You can send your shoes to Nike.

I really don't see how in just a few generations we have become a "disposable" society when every grandparent I see is so frugal and miserly.

Didn't there used to be a shoe recycling receptacle in the Cates Ave. entrance to Talley? Or am I just imagining things?

Basically I have tow pairs of tennis shoes that are old as dirt and beyond good use. Didn't want to be the normal American and just toss them in the can. I prefer to recycle things that I can. Plus I vaguely remembered someone saying something about this awhile back.

contact one of the specialty running shops and see if they can get you more info about recycling them into the rubber track material megameg mentioned.
