Ehhh, I don't know how to feel about this. Paul Anderson seems like the guy who makes video game movies that "are not complete and utter crap". I still haven't seen the Resident Evil films though.

Quite a confusing thread, but this is what I think ShinAntonio was trying to say: The dude who made the Resident Evil films is on board to make a Castlevania film.

Why do I get a horrible feeling that it will end up like Van Helsing? And I don't really think it would be based off of any specific Castlevania game, they are mostly just "Dracula's castle has appeared. Modern day member of the Belmont clan (or someone associated with the Belmont clan IE Nathan Graves or Soma Cruz) must use the hunter's whip and/or magic to defeat him." That is the thing that makes the Castlevania games so great -- No BS -- straight vampire hunting/evil slashing fun.

Umm, the quality of game has next to nothing to do with the quality of its film (see Mortal Kombat). And the story in Castlevania games isn't noteworthy to begin with.

These guys are gonna fuck this one up, just like they fucked up RE2. RE1 was alright, but i think that someone like Guillermo del Torro (blade 2, hellboy director) should take this project.

del torro is a damn good director. Hellboy sucked b/c the whole damn story just sucked. I think that he would do a better job at this project than any director(s) out there at this time. But im sick of the whole video game, comic book movie idea anyway. Hollywood is really milkin' that area dry, and it makes things worse when the movies turn out bad.

Guillermo doesnt act. Benicio is Guillermo's brother. he does act.
