I'm a Republican, and I used to enjoy this show, despite it's ultra-left wing politics. But the last 2 seasons have been unwatchable.

I walked away from the live debate feeling like it was just a shouting match. Without structure or rules it boiled down to petty arguement about idiologies instead of policies. To the me scripted debate between President Bartlet and Gov. Richie was much better and much more presidential.

people, it's not "nbc is liberal biased bullshit." Maybe the show is or its creators are, but nbc is owned by general electric, who are a weapons manufacturer and donate HEAVILY to republicans constantly. The idea that nbc is biased to the left is almost as laughable as saying that fox news is. NBC is just making money, and if htey can allow liberal politics on some of their shows and make a few gazillion dollars, they will, but it's not because they're biased towards anything but the color green

I did not watch last nights episode. But the show in general has moved way to the left, and to the unfathomable from a political scientist's POV. But it has to be somewhat unrealistic in order to be hollywood worthy.

That, along with

- you'll never see a convention floor fight for a presidential candidate again. Too much $$ involved for it to happen(but good TV). Whoever came out of such a race if it were to happen would get obliterated in a general election. Don't overlook the party in-fighting and negative campaigning.
- A drug addict VP? Please. I love John Spencer, and Leo was my favorite character, but that's asking a lot.
