My Mom's Birthday is coming up and she is looking to get a memory stick. She's a teacher, and it would be really helpful to have one of those ones that just plugs into a USB port to use interchangeably from home and school.I just wanted to get peoples opinions on brands/types or any other helpful information. Is there a particular brand to look into or avoid?

I just got a 256mb Crucial flash drive for about $21 shipped from Newegg to use for teaching. Corsair, Crucial, Kingmax, OCZ, and PNY all make good system memory, so I assume they make good flash drives as well. As far as size goes, my epic picture-filled powerpoints only take up about 8-10 megs per lesson, so even a 256mb drive is overkill for what I use it for.

If you got a while to wait, keep an eye on slickdeals. They have flash drive deals pretty frequently.

the pny drives are pretty inexpensive usually, and most of them come with usb extension cables too.
